🗽#ClimateWeekNYC 2024: What a Ride! This week was non-stop for the Climate Investment (CI) team, and we’re buzzing with excitement from all the incredible conversations and connections! 🚀 Not only did we field a large CI presence across the city all week to make sure we took in all the notable #climatetech events, but we also hosted two epic events of our own! A massive shoutout and THANK YOU to our co-hosts at Keyframe Capital, Piva Capital, Galvanize Climate Solutions, and Boston Consulting Group (BCG) —what a team effort! 👏   📅 Our Tuesday breakfast was over-subscribed with standing room only for 150 attendees! 🙌 We showcased how Climate tech 2.0 is rising, with founders using the hard-won lessons of Cleantech 1.0 to scale tech that’s creating real impact today. It’s clear—the climate tech ecosystem has never been stronger and recent data is bearing that out, too!   📅 Yesterday, we swapped boardrooms for a Padel court 🏓—and it didn’t disappoint! Around 70-90 late-stage investors joined us for some competitive fun, but the real win was the deep dive into bridging the “valley of death” that climate startups face. From scaling risks to collaboration, the energy around getting climate tech to scale was unstoppable.   💡 Key Insights: ✅Climate tech 2.0 is here—and it’s ready to scale. We need to urgently plug the missing middle funding. ✅Collaboration across investors, founders, and stakeholders is critical for navigating the challenges ahead. ✅The climate tech ecosystem is buzzing with activity, and we’re just getting started.   We can’t wait to do it all again next year at #ClimateWeekNYC 2025. What an exciting conversation on climate tech startups and just understanding what investors look for, before investing in tech start ups. Here is what you need to know.. Before approaching an investor, ask yourself the following questions; 1. How viable is your business idea/ innovation? 2. Is your innovation sustainable ? 3. How unique is your innovation? Are you duplicating another person's ideas or targeting the same customers? 4. How applicable is it to the customers in terms of affordability and ease of using it? 4. Have you done an impact measurement of your innovation? Do you have factual data of how your innovation has improved the life of the community? Thank you Pangea Accelerator

Team Choir Corp has stood by our thesis that climate, energy and water tech needs to be software led, hardware supported and asset backed. It has been interesting watching Fortune 500 and VCs finally understand this and realize the extreme need for all aspects of this segment to be driven by data and not emotion. We certainly could be entering a climate tech winter, alongside an AI one. Firms over-funded with no real recurring revenue are in trouble. Startups that claim AI but are decades old with no real revenue are in deep trouble. Companies with a focus on impact but delivering no impact are less than desirable. We must be pragmatic. We must give high revenue returns to survive and we must ensure climate tech is not just for the elite, but for the 98%. Congrats on a great qtr so far Team Choir! Stand by your mission and values, create wealth and save the world.

Not just because I get to be a (role) model for Djoann Fal's The Climate Tech Coalition #climate #entrepreneurs, but I cannot say enough good words about the work they are doing in #asia and around the world in collaboration with Altru Institute. This is a passionate group of "doers" that are on a mission to solve what is arguably the world's most important mission, #sustainability. Did you see the storm in #dubai this week? People... it's time to wake up! We are not doing nearly enough, fast enough. I have dedicated my life and all of my resources to help solve these problems for a good part of the last decade. With all too little support or concern. Those that have helped along the way, you are the true warriors, the risk takers, the tough thinkers, the I don't give a damn.... we're going to make it work attitude people. I cannot say enough thank you's to those (you know who you are). And enough "ba humbugs" to those that shot us down and turned away for something easier and totally irrelevant to the continuation of humanity because it was "immediately profitable". (by the way, if your city floods and everything dies... your "profits" are not going to be too useful 10 years from now). Thanks to groups like this, those days are numbered. The amount of interest and support we have seen for the latest revision, DCarbon Solutions has been tremendous and I do see a glass half full filling up more each day. Let's turn up the dial (not the heat please...). Literally, now or never. Don't be shy to reach out and join Djoann and I, Altru and the 1,000 other people that have banded together to sweat the sweat and make it all work. Together, we CAN make a difference.
