Connecting and empowering Climate Tech in the Benelux 🌱 Last week, the Climate Tech Summit Benelux brought together top climate tech minds across the Benelux, from visionary founders to dedicated impact investors. Endeit Capital was proud to be part of this dynamic ecosystem. Over 125 founders and 60 investors united with a shared goal: tackling the challenges mission-driven climate entrepreneurs face—from bridging funding gaps and navigating regulatory shifts to finding the right support for promising innovations. Amid all the noise of national politics and global conflict, climate change continues to accelerate. Who is doing something about it? We are. Would you like to join us? The Bakar ClimatEnginuity Hub, a new incubator and innovation center at University of California, Berkeley, will open its doors to climate tech entrepreneurs... in 2028. It takes that long to clear space, construct the facility, and build it out with equipment. But we all know the planet is getting warmer by the day. That is why last Friday we brought together the climate tech community from #UCBerkeley, Berkeley Lab, and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory at Bakar Labs in an inaugural launch event for BCH -- at which we announced QB3's pilot programs for climate tech entrepreneurs. In partnership with Activate Berkeley, its managing director Jill Fuss, and the wider national Activate organization, we'll be providing resources and lab space to ambitious, motivated climate tech entrepreneurs. We're going to build huge momentum so when BCH opens its doors we'll have way too many exciting, fundable, indispensable technologies to accommodate -- we'll have to build another incubator! The technologies we support will be commercially promising -- you gotta make something people want. And these technologies need to create opportunities and be accessible to everyone all. Congratulations WellingtonNZ and Motion Capital on hosting the first-ever Climate Tech Summit Aotearoa last week! 🌿 ⚡ 🐜 Climate tech - defined as any tech-based solution to environmental problems - looks to be one of the important components of any successful engagement with the multiple environment-related challenges we face. Three new startups from Creative HQ’s climate accelerator won a $50,000 investment each from Motion Capital: GOOD GRUB AGRITECH, which produces low-cost insect protein for animal feed; Mara Bio, which makes a fungi-based protein; and Aotea Energy, which is developing smart home batteries. Props to Lachlan Nixon's Motion Capital and Whakatupu Aotearoa Foundation for establishing a pre-seed fund to support each of the nine ventures in Creative HQ’s climate accelerator. 🗽#ClimateWeekNYC 2024: What a Ride! This week was non-stop for the Climate Investment (CI) team, and we’re buzzing with excitement from all the incredible conversations and connections! 🚀 Not only did we field a large CI presence across the city all week to make sure we took in all the notable #climatetech events, but we also hosted two epic events of our own! A massive shoutout and THANK YOU to our co-hosts at Keyframe Capital, Piva Capital, Galvanize Climate Solutions, and Boston Consulting Group (BCG) —what a team effort! 👏   📅 Our Tuesday breakfast was over-subscribed with standing room only for 150 attendees! 🙌 We showcased how Climate tech 2.0 is rising, with founders using the hard-won lessons of Cleantech 1.0 to scale tech that’s creating real impact today. It’s clear—the climate tech ecosystem has never been stronger and recent data is bearing that out, too!   📅 Yesterday, we swapped boardrooms for a Padel court 🏓—and it didn’t disappoint! Around 70-90 late-stage investors joined us for some competitive fun, but the real win was the deep dive into bridging the “valley of death” that climate startups face. From scaling risks to collaboration, the energy around getting climate tech to scale was unstoppable.   💡 Key Insights: ✅Climate tech 2.0 is here—and it’s ready to scale. We need to urgently plug the missing middle funding. ✅Collaboration across investors, founders, and stakeholders is critical for navigating the challenges ahead. ✅The climate tech ecosystem is buzzing with activity, and we’re just getting started.   We can’t wait to do it all again next year at #ClimateWeekNYC 2025.
