PAGE's Impact in Balochistan: Transforming Education Through Star Schools 🌟 Balochistan faces immense challenges in the field of education, especially for girls. With 1.77 million girls out of school and an alarming 75.4% out-of-school rate, the need for inclusive and accessible education is critical. Recognizing these barriers, Pakistan Alliance for Girls Education - PAGE - has been at the forefront of tackling these issues through its Star Schools Programme. Currently, PAGE is operating 31 Star Schools across Balochistan, including 20 schools funded by IDRF (International Development and Relief Foundation) , 9 by PAGE UK, and 2 by Women's Peace & Humanitarian Fund (WPHF). These schools are providing crucial educational opportunities to children in the most underserved areas, breaking the cycle of poverty and marginalization. What makes this achievement even more significant is that several IDRF (International Development and Relief Foundation) -funded schools have now been adopted by the Government of Balochistan, showcasing the success and sustainability of our model. Through our continued efforts, we aim to provide quality education, overcoming challenges such as: 📚 25% of girls' schools in need of repair 🚱 17% of schools lacking drinking water 🚻 14% without toilets ⚡ 22% lacking electricity PAGE's mission is clear: No child, regardless of their background, should be deprived of their right to education. Together, with the support of our partners, PAGE is transforming the educational landscape in Balochistan, one Star School at a time. #EducationForAll #GirlsEducation #PAGE #StarSchools #Balochistan #Inclusion #PageforAll

There are several of these learners in even non violent region who can't read nor write because of varied reasons. We really need an education system that addresses all the problems these learners face so that we can realise SDG 4
Nine-year-old Helene’s happy place is her school. Ongoing violence in DR Congo forced her to flee Rugari with her family and settle in a primary school compound in north Kivu province. Helene couldn’t study in the new school due to a lack of space in the classrooms. This affected her greatly. Her mother saw her crying often, refusing to eat food and growing distant from the rest of the family. Earlier this year, UNICEF and partners helped construct three temporary learning spaces within the school compound, allowing Helene to find a seat in one and resume her education. Her mother is relieved to see her smile again, while her teachers say she is a very diligent student. UNICEF is committed to ensuring education #ForEveryChild.

This week marks the official first week of the final term of the year in Uganda, a crucial period for students to complete their academic year. As we send back our children to school, let us remember that every girl deserves the same opportunity as every boy to return to class and complete their education. Unfortunately, many girls in Uganda face barriers in accessing education, including poverty, cultural norms, and lack of resources. This can lead to higher dropout rates and limited opportunities for future success. Let us work together to ensure that all girls have the chance to succeed, just like their male counterparts. This includes providing access to quality education, sanitary products, and support services to help them stay in school. By giving girls the same opportunities as boys, we can empower them to reach their full potential, break cycles of poverty, and create a brighter future for themselves and their communities. Let us make this academic year a turning point for girls' education in Uganda. Let us ensure that every girl has the chance to succeed and thrive. #GirlsEducationMatters #LeavingNoGirlBehind #GirlsNotBrides #EndChildMarriage Murua Girl Child Education Program Metis GlobalGiving Global Fund for Women GirlsFirst Foundation Girl Effect Segal Family Foundation AMPLIFY GIRLS Faces Up Uganda Concern for the Girl Child Gufasha Girls Foundation Imaginable Futures Raise Hope foundation Uganda Raising Teenagers Uganda: Plan International Children's Rights and Violence Prevention Fund (CRVPF) Drawing Dreams Initiative Jamil Kigenyi Girls First Fund Together for Girls Dwona Initiative

At the recent forum hosted by the #AllianceforEducation the discussion focused on the pressing issue of out-of-school children (#OOSC) in Pakistan. #MuslimHands Executive Director Mr. Gillani highlighted alarming statistics from UNICEF and the Government of Pakistan, revealing that 26.2 million children, which constitute 40% of children aged 4 to 16 are still not attending school. This issue extends beyond the Government of Pakistan and demands the collective efforts of all #stakeholders including international and non-governmental organisation’s as well as local communities. #Communityownership and the realization of the importance of education are crucial yet currently lacking. To address this there is a dire need for a comprehensive #strategy and robust guidance. A solid policy #framework is essential, providing clear guidance and protocols to prioritize education and delineate roles and responsibilities among various stakeholders. Several challenges hinder progress, including economic and social barriers.Additionally #climatechange poses a significant threat exacerbating the situation. The #COVID-19 pandemic has also drastically widened the gap in education, further complicating efforts to bring children back to school. Despite these formidable challenges we should underscored the importance of collaborative efforts by working together. #SchneiderElectricFoundation #SDG4 #CommunitySupport #SDGs #WinterCare #Abidsuleri #bilal1anwar #UNHCRPakistan #UNICEF_Pakistan #UNDP_Pakistan #ndrmfpk #NDRMF #ndmapk #GovtofPakistan #PlanComPakistan #PHFHumanitarian #muslimhandspak #muslimhandsuk #PDMAKP #ukinpakistan #FranceinPak #CanHCPakistan #USAID_Pakistan #UNOCHA #UNIDO_Pakistan #EduMinistryPK #UNOCHA #pkBritish #BritishCouncil #UnescoPakistan

Today, on the Day of the African Child, UNICEF Ghana joins the world in commemorating the Soweto Uprising and reaffirming our commitment to the #African Charter on the Rights and Welfare of the Child. The bravery of the Soweto students who fought for their right to education serves as a timeless inspiration. Education empowers individuals, fosters active citizenship, and is central to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (#SDGs). Ghana has made strides in education access, but significant challenges remain, particularly for: - Children with disabilities - Girls - Children in rural areas These inequalities are one of the many reasons to why the African Charter was established - to address them and ensure inclusive, quality education for every child. UNICEF Ghana is committed to working with the Ghanaian government, civil society, and the private sector to: - Invest in targeted teacher training programs - Improve school infrastructure and learning materials - Address the root causes hindering education, such as child labour and early marriages By adopting innovative, regionally focused strategies as envisioned by the African Charter, we can fulfil Ghana's obligations towards education for all. Let's rededicate ourselves to the spirit of the Day of the African Child. Together, through collective action, we can achieve greater progress for all children in Ghana and across the African continent. #DayoftheAfricanChild #Ghana #EducationForAll #AfricanCharter #UNICEF #DAC
