At the 3rd Annual Summit on the Future of Rural Health Care, Dr. Tommy Ibrahim, MD, MBA, MHA, President and CEO of Sanford Health Plan, and Dr. Scott Gottlieb, former FDA Commissioner, discussed the role of large language models (LLMs) in providers' clinical workflows. Dr. Gottlieb shared insights from his recent research on LLMs, adding that he is optimistic about the role they can play in the future of health care delivery, though he doesn't think their potential has been fully realized yet. "I think we're at the point right now that if you're handling a complex case and you're not using [LLMs], you probably should be," he said.
