Thesis: How to achieve "permanent peace in the Middle East" Carter identifies "two interrelated obstacles to permanent peace in the Middle East": Some Israelis believe they have the right to confiscate and colonize Palestinian land and try to justify the sustained subjugation and persecution of increasingly hopeless and aggravated Palestinians; and Some Palestinians react by honoring suicide bombers as martyrs to be rewarded in heaven and consider the killing of Israelis as victories. To bring an end to what he calls "this continuing tragedy", in Chapter 17 ("Summary"), Carter calls for a revitalization of the peace process based on the following three "key requirements": #Israel

Centering the narrative around the solution, One Democratic State, sets the course and helps make sure efforts for Palestine aren't limited to the short-term, basically ending a genocide now only for another to start in a few years. It also helps make sure such efforts aren't hijacked toward non-solutions like two states, binationalism or confederation, whether by "light Zionists" or by well-meaning allies. And as the fundamental antithesis to Zionism, ODS also debunks the myth that Palestinians are out to genocide Jews and challenges the premise behind the existence of the settler-colonial state—that Jews can only be safe in a state exclusive to them. This is why we're issuing a call to action that explains practical steps you can take to help reclaim the narrative. 🌿 Unraveling the Roots of Conflict: Zionist Institutions and the Transformation of Palestine In my latest blog post, I dive into the historical journey that paved the way for the establishment of a Jewish state in Palestine. From the First Zionist Congress to the critical roles played by institutions like the Jewish National Fund (JNF) and the Anglo-Palestine Bank, the foundations of this conflict were laid long ago. https://lnkd.in/d_JHD-Rv

Peaceful Co-existence can be engineered via Mutual Acceptance and Good Will
"We must not lose hope, we must not give up. Too many children depend on us to ensure that we do not drag yet another generation into this war. Even if we are few today, our light will not be extinguished. Our hope will awaken, swell, motivate and sweep up Jews and Arabs who refuse to be enemies. Jews and Arabs, neighbors, want to live in a just society alongside one another, guided by mutual respect, and equally receiving rights and shouldering responsibilities. This horrible war must redefine the relations between Jews and Arabs and Palestinians in Israel and throughout the region. We, the Arab citizens of Israel, want to act as a bridge between the Jewish people and the Palestinian people. Many leaders in Arab-Israeli society say as much." Ghadir Hani, Peace Activist, Acre. July 1st, 2024 - It's time to make a deal, stop the war, end the conflict and make peace.

The ICJ judgement is clear. There is no future for Israel or an enlarged Israel based on the narrative of its radicals.... anyone who claimed or wants to claim new territory exclusively for themselves will only find eternal war, violence and destruction, whereas the moderates in the region hold the key to peace by non-violent interaction and dialog. The only way out of the conflict is thus to learn to live together as equals and to share the region as one union. Practically, it means in my opinion to go back to the times of Canaan and establish (democratic) autonomous local communities and flexibly spread them over the entire territory of Canaan. These autonomous communities can coexist and come together in multiple confederations of communities (nations), for example an Israeli, a Palestinian, and a Lebanese one, all sharing the country as a union, this is a hybrid outcome with elements of both a two- and a one-state solution. There is space for all cultural identities this way without any minority versus majority issues. Currently, such scenario seems very far fetched, but, all belong to Canaan and nobody outside is waiting for an(other) exodus of any. www.canaan.community & www.pax.ngo & www.convergence.ngo
By calling for the establishment of a state exclusive to all Jews of the world, the Zionist project creates a precedent that is an inherent threat to all societies of the world. Ahmad Assi of political movement "Citizens of a State" explains how this applies to Lebanon. Link to the whole video: https://lnkd.in/ey3vQ9Ai

Zionist values are not religious, Jewish values are. Religions are there to unite us and have the target to bring people together in oneness..... It are the human interpretations that make a mess out of this. We need nonviolent interaction as equals. This will lead to mutual understanding and empathy, it will exchange fear and hatred for trust and solidarity, and let humanity grow together in relation to God. www.samadeus.org & www.pax.ngo
Zionists are the problem! Not Jews, Muslims or Christians! They lived peacefully in the melting pot of the. Middle East called Palestine before the occupation.
