Almost 74% of the Sustainable Development Goals won't be achieved without gender equality. We cannot tackle hunger, poverty or the climate crisis without considering the unique barriers women and girls face and the dedicated policies and investments need to break down these barriers. What is clear too, is the likely shift on gender gaps that may affect #males than #females partly due to affirmative action to empower women and girls due to existing #socialcultural barriers, #norms and #system barriers. I am aware that some areas in the gender equality indicators as per the #SDG priorities have regressed for some countries and my reflection is that this requires conceited efforts, political will at different levels #political will and new models in advancing gender equality.
