I read the link in the post Saima Wazed . I worked on a project which is using by Mayo Clinic in organ transplant domain. There, I worked on a module which can show the progress of a patient on different attributes (lab test, procedure) in chart. So, doctors can easily in glance of eye understand the lab results which are done over time for a patient. If we can capture of all lab results based on types (blood, urine) from diagnosis centers and hospitals (pipe it into database); we can get evidence on the particular reasons for different sickness or disease on different vitals and demographics as well the current status of general public as a whole. From there, you can plan the road map even pinpointed for future work. Individual lab results are the raw data of global health. During your period in WHO as Regional Director; you can create the infrastructure or systems which can provide indicators, what to do next to improve public health.

Denmark should be at the forefront when it comes to global health. This is the foundation of the newly established Alliance for Global Health, which now gathers Danish and international experts in a dedicated expert group. From the Danish Institute for Human Rights, Steven Jensen, PhD and Senior Researcher, contributes. Jensen has spent two decades working in various capacities related to global health, and as a researcher he is specialised in global health and human rights. By bringing together expertise from several different sectors and including the latest research and evidence, the expert group will identify opportunities and areas where Denmark can make a significant difference on the global stage and position itself as a nation that can lead the way towards stronger commitments and achievements in the field of global health (and beyond). The message of Tomas Petricek at the at the Policy & Values conference organized by the “Europe, a Patient” think tank is clear: as we navigate an increasingly complex global landscape, the EU must prioritize empowering its people to build resilience against emerging threats. However, to truly safeguard our future, it’s clear we need to address two critical gaps: 1️⃣ Institutional and Infrastructure Readiness: We lack the capabilities to effectively respond to new threats, both in terms of our systems and infrastructure. 2️⃣ Strategic Consensus: A fragmented understanding of what constitutes a threat limits our collective ability to defend ourselves. Without a unified vision, even the strongest initiatives may falter. A resilient population—one that thrives in the face of adversity—requires greater degree of cooperation, particularly in health policy. This includes a comprehensive, evidence-based approach to addressing challenges like addictions and mental health, areas that remain under-addressed at the European level. The good news? The opportunities are already on the table. Initiatives like the EU’s mental health strategy and cardiovascular programs provide a strong foundation to advance health resilience across the Union. We have good best practices in the Member States, including the Czech Republic. Let’s learn from each other! It's time for the EU to take bold steps toward a more unified, healthier, and prepared Europe. Let's invest in the institutions, policies, and strategies that empower people—and secure our collective future.

Attending and presenting at World Health Organization hosted session in #GES2024 on guideline adaptation. An excuse to refer to WHO publication on "establishing a national programme for guideline adaptation". "This document provides the key steps and methods that should be followed for the adaptation of a guideline developed in one country (or at the multinational level) to the specific context of another country. The guidance does not include steps and procedures for the de novo development of guidelines, which the WHO guideline for handbook development covers. This guidance was prepared in response to a resolution of the Sixty-sixth session of the WHO Regional Committee for the Eastern Mediterranean in 2019 (resolution EM/RC66/R.5) on enhancing national institutional capacities for evidence-informed #policymaking. In particular, the resolution asked the Member States of the Region to “establish national programmes to adapt and/or develop evidence-based public health and clinical practice guidelines on national priority issues”. In recent years, WHO/Europe has deepened and extended its collaboration with Member States, further boosted by the Country Strategy endorsed 2 years ago. Four countries showcased examples of this collaboration and the positive #healthimpact it has made at a side event organized yesterday in the run-up to WHO/Europe’s annual governance meeting, RC74. Romania is advancing in key health areas as part of its National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP), guided by the 7-year Country Cooperation Strategy signed with WHO in 2024. Kyrgyzstan is actively engaged in the subregional strategy—the Roadmap for Health and Wellbeing in Central Asia—and hosted the Central Asia International Health Investment Forum, maintaining focus and momentum on health and economic priorities. Malta is launching an NCD Prevention Policy Framework using the insights gained from a WHO Country Support Team. Germany is advancing public health reforms and establishing a prevention institute with support from a WHO Country Counterpart. The Country Impact Report, a compendium of 53 inspiring examples of collaboration, will be published at the end of October. Read more about health impact: https://bit.ly/3ZqUuvB
