At PJM, we have always embraced challenges as opportunities for innovation. In connection with the expansion of our facilities, we quickly realized that large amounts of runoff water needed to be managed. We turned the challenge into a lasting asset and now we have a biodiversity “park” that will benefit our employees, the local community, and the biodiversity in the area. By utilizing nature’s own resources to handle surface water, we can create a more sustainable and resilient environment. Wetlands, ponds, and basins manage water and create habitats for local wildlife and plants, ultimately boosting biodiversity. Read the full story about the initiative here: https://hubs.la/Q02TBGb-0

Thrilled to announce that I will be the part of team and will be handling key areas for the implementation of Green Credit Program launched by GoI in a 200-hectare forest area in collaboration with the Forest Department! 🌳 The program will have numerous benefits. I would like to highlight some of the key advantages: 1. Environmental Preservation: Through sustainable practices like reforestation and biodiversity conservation, we would be enhancing the natural habitat, promoting healthier ecosystems and combating climate change. 2. Economic Prosperity: By empowering local communities with sustainable livelihood options such as nursery development and responsible forestry practices, we would try to bolster economic resilience and create new income streams. 3. Social Impact: Engaging communities in the program will foster a sense of ownership and stewardship, strengthening social cohesion and promoting sustainable resource management practices for future generations. 4. Carbon Sequestration: Our efforts will have significant impact to carbon sequestration, playing a vital role in mitigating the effects of climate change and ensuring a greener, more sustainable future. Thank you to the Forest Department and all involved stakeholders for their dedication to environmental conservation and sustainable development! Together, we're making a difference. 🌍💚 #GreenCredit #SustainableDevelopment #forestconservation

In two days time, on 26 September, Tropical Forest Alliance and ISEAL are hosting a webinar on 'Taking the First Step: Supporting Companies to Take Landscape-scale Action'. Momentum is building for companies to take landscape-scale action. However, almost two thirds of downstream and midstream companies identified having had taken landscape-scale action in a recent global study conducted by TFA, Proforest and CDP are supporting only one initiative. This finding indicates that many companies are only at the beginning of their journey in supporting multi-stakeholder efforts to achieve change at scale in production regions. Within this context, the Tropical Forest Alliance (TFA), and ISEAL are hosting a Jurisdictional Action Network (JAN) webinar to build understanding on the available tools to assist companies to initiate and/or take more landscape-scale action. These tools include maps of landscape and jurisdictional initiatives and multi-stakeholder processes/ platforms and a roadmap for company effective landscape action and claims. Our confirmed panelists and moderator: • Tom Hollick, Group Forests Manager at Tesco and Co-lead of the Landscape WG of the CGF Forest Positive Coalition of Action • John Buchanan, Vice President Sustainable Production at Conservation International • Norma Pedroza Arceo, Technical Manager, Forests and Land – Sustainable Landscapes at CDP • Patrick Mallet, Director, Innovations at ISEAL • Jack Lloyd, Project Specialist at TFA Register here: https://lnkd.in/ekWiRUsA #Deforestation #LandscapeAction #Stakeholders #TropicalForests
