🌟 AGENCY AWARDS 🌟 December is also when we run our Annual Edison Awards, a democratic process where the whole agency votes to recognise the people who have shown up, improved, and lived out our agency values. Normally, we pick two winners, but this year I threw in a Wild Card just because — why not end the year on a high? Each winner receives a personal gift, handpicked (and wrapped) by our Founder Amber B. because recognition should feel special. Award: "Side by Side" This award celebrates those who celebrate our wins together and step up to be part of the solution when times get tough. Winners: Michael Tsapazi MAICD and Stephanie Ehrlich — congratulations for being this year’s most-voted recipients. Shoutout to Liz Archer, Matthew O'Connor, Stephen Wren and Niki Beeston who were right behind them — your support doesn't go unnoticed. Award: "Courage to Push" This award goes to those who challenge the status quo. It’s for those who believe that good is never good enough and aren’t afraid to shake things up, bite big, and aim high. Winners: Our Senior Design Director Andrew Christensen (who only joined us this year!) and… Amber B.. Honorable mentions to Calin Barker and Gabrielle Versace for being right up there too. Your boldness inspires us all. #agencyculture #imaginechange #recognition #agencylife

Did you know? 💡 Today, we remember and honour the incredible legacy of Thomas Edison, one of history’s greatest inventors. His contributions, from the incandescent light bulb to the phonograph and motion picture camera, continue to illuminate our lives in more ways than one. ⚡ Edison’s relentless dedication to innovation teaches us that success doesn’t happen overnight; it’s built through hard work, perseverance, and countless hours of effort. 🙌 As he famously said, “Genius is one percent inspiration and ninety-nine percent perspiration.” Every great achievement comes from the combination of passion and hard work. ⚡RMJ | Delivering Fuss-Free Technology Solutions! 👉 Logon to https://lnkd.in/eCQMzPkH for more information. #Inspiration #HardWork #Success #ThomasEdison #TechHistory #professionalplacement #careeropportunities #itservices #consultancy #coaching #training #hrdc #trainingworkshops #businessgrowth #businessgoals #hiring #careers #vacancies #jobopportunities #contractroles #permanentroles #longtermemployment

I absolutely loved it! LEED - Empower HER 🚀 I was blessed to hear from some amazing woman, talking about careers development and woman empowerment ♀ Each speaker brought their uniqueness and personal story to life and shared some powerful insights and lessons.⭐ Some of the best advice on how to build a career you'll love: 1. NETWORK, show up for others and follow up! Build relationships. 2. "CURIOSITY is our compass." - Follow what is interesting to you and don't listen to all the noise from other people. 3. Fill YOUR own cup first. Take care of your mental and physical health, before trying to solve other people's problems. 4. It's okay to say NO. 5. Practice self compassion. 6. It's not just about who you know, it's about WHO KNOWS YOU. 7. Change is about the DEPTH of the impact, not about the number of people reached. 8. No one's career is linear. Don't be scared to PIVOT if you feel like you're not in the right place. 9. There is a HIDDEN job market that can be unlocked by expanding your network. 10. SUCCESS is a piece of mind and not a destination. So grateful! Thank you to every single person that contributed!❤ LEED - Empower her Inspiring careers: Woman making an impact March 20th #LEAD #RBCFutureLaunch

🔍 Insights from Thomas Edison's Legacy: A Visit to the Edison Site 💡 I recently had the privilege of visiting the Thomas Edison site in the US, and it was a profound experience! Edison’s pioneering inventions—the electric light bulb, phonograph, and motion picture camera—are just a few examples of how one person’s vision can revolutionize the world. 🌍✨ Exploring Edison's extensive collection of artifacts and learning about his innovative process left me inspired and reflective. Edison’s dedication to collecting ideas and pushing the boundaries of technology serves as a powerful reminder of the impact that passion and perseverance can have on our professional and personal endeavors. 🚀🔬 Sir David Attenborough encapsulates this sentiment perfectly: “You can form all the committees, all the working groups that you like, but you know that in the end, it is that one individual that has passion, that one individual that has fire in the belly, that one individual that is determined that something should be done.” Edison’s relentless pursuit of innovation and his fire in the belly changed the landscape of modern technology. It’s a testament to what can be achieved with vision and determination. As professionals, let’s harness our passion and drive to make impactful contributions in our fields. What motivates you to push the boundaries and innovate? I’d love to hear your thoughts and experiences! #ThomasEdison #Innovation #Leadership #Passion #ProfessionalGrowth #Inspiration #DavidAttenborough #CareerDevelopment #InventorSpirit

Last Wednesday, members of Strategy + Place and the Reconciliation Action Plan working group from Wolter Consulting Group had the enriching opportunity to participate in the insightful Two Way Planning, Design, and Place Master Class. Guided by the expertise of distinguished presenters, Carol Vale from Murawin and Michelle Howard from Collaborations, the session shed light on the intersection of Indigenous and non-Indigenous perspectives within planning and design. Throughout the Master Class, Carol and Michelle seamlessly bridged Indigenous and non-Indigenous perspectives, fostering an environment of mutual understanding and respect. Their combined wealth of experience and deep commitment to cultural inclusivity provided attendees with a holistic understanding of incorporating Indigenous perspectives into our work. Reflecting on the day's discussions, several key takeaways resonated deeply: 1. Personalising Acknowledgement to Country: We learned that acknowledging Country is not just about reading from a script; it's about personalising the acknowledgment, infusing it with sincerity and genuine respect. 2. Building Relationships with Traditional Owners and Aboriginal Communities: Relationships matter. Making connections with Traditional Owners and Aboriginal people goes beyond professional courtesy; it's about building genuine relationships. We discussed the importance of having a yarn over a cuppa, fostering open conversations, and building trust. 3. Learning the Language and Place Names: Just as we learn the language and place names when we travel, we should extend the same curiosity and respect to Aboriginal languages and places. Researching special places and understanding the significance behind them demonstrates a genuine interest and respect for Indigenous culture and heritage. 4. Showing Curiosity as a Sign of Respect: We were reminded that showing curiosity is a powerful sign of respect. Asking questions, seeking to understand, and being open to learning demonstrates our commitment to honour and integrate Indigenous knowledge and perspectives into our work. These insights have reshaped our approach to planning and design, emphasizing cultural sensitivity, inclusivity, and collaboration. Let us embark on the journey of cultural connection and collective stewardship, shaping a more inclusive and resilient built environment. #TwoWayPlanning #DesignAndPlace #IndigenousPerspectives #CulturalInclusivity #Stewardship
