💡 Insightful new study results on the impact of #ZeroGravity on significantly reducing occupational scatter radiation for Interventional cardiologists and sterile assistants in critical anatomical areas. The study highlights that: ➡️ Implementing protection systems like Zero-Gravity can drastically reduce cathlab staff's exposure to scatter radiation during elective and emergency procedures. ➡️ Given the well-documented long-term effects of occupational scatter radiation on Interventional cardiologists, advanced radiation protection devices like Zero-Gravity should be recommended in interventional cardiology practice guidelines. I am very grateful that the Austrian Society of Cardiology #ÖKG has recognized our study on radiation protection with the #ZeroGravity system in emergency PCI in myocardial infarction as one of the “Clinical research highlights” during the opening session of the annual meeting 2024 in Salzburg! Many thanks to Prof. Scherr for the great presentation! The drastic reduction in scatter radiation for operators and assistants without any negative impact on other PCI performance indicators once again shows that advanced radiation protection devices like #ZeroGravity are not limited to simple elective procedures!

Increased incidence of adult gonococcal keratoconjunctivitis at two tertiary eye hospitals in Western Europe: clinical features, complications and antimicrobial susceptibility (see page 788) A retrospective case series from referral centres in the United Kingdom and the Netherlands between January and July 2023 reports a marked increase in cases of adult gonococcal keratoconjunctivitis when compared to the years 2017-2022. This may be indicative of a change in international incidence more widely.
