I decided to work solely on creating brand identities for Food, Beverage and Lifestyle brands because they were already a massive part of my life. I’ve collected interesting food packaging for the longest time, love slow mornings in coffee shops, visiting new brunch spots in new cities and wandering around supermarkets. I realised my knowledge of these brands and what makes them successful combined with experience taking on different types of projects (packaging, marketing materials, illustration and branding) gave me a unique insight into how to help Food & Beverage brands grow. The Food & Beverage sector is booming but there’s loads of competition out there. However, each business has its own story, unique benefits and specific audience...I use those things to create illustration and design work that excites people the way a great meal, coffee or cake excites people. Leading them to share the brand with others who they know will love it! If we were to launch a perfume brand, here’s the 60-second marketing strategy we’d execute: Imagine this: A perfume inspired by food, where each collection is seasonal and comes with recipe cards showing how to mix the scents together, just like flavors in a dish. Introduction Campaign: “Mmm, Smells Bring Hunger.” Think Ratatouille vibes—an artistic video showcasing the process of crafting a meal. Ingredients are carefully combined, flavors are layered, and, in the end, the final dish is presented. But instead of food on the plate, there are different sizes of perfumes from the collection, arranged to mimic a gourmet meal. Activation Idea: Take the experience offline. Imagine pop-up restaurants or food stalls every weekend, where the perfumes are sold like meals. Customers receive a “menu” of scent pairings and are served their chosen perfumes on a plate, blending the worlds of dining and fragrance in a playful, immersive way. How do you reposition a successful business-to-business brand to engage a new consumer audience? This was the challenge facing Vic's - The Chef's Butcher when they engaged us in 2022. Here’s how we achieved it: 🐷 Becoming ‘the chef’s butcher’: We adopted this positioning to leverage the enormous credibility Vic’s had in the hospitality industry when speaking with consumers. 🐷 A new look (and a new-ish a name): We took this opportunity to refresh Vic’s brand codes to create a memorable, unified visual identity. We also dropped the ‘meat’ from their name to create a simple, personable brand that could transcend categories. 🐷 Branded retail stores: Working with @DesignOffice, we translated the brand into stores that celebrated product and provenance – elevating the craft of butchery as the focus of the retail spaces. 🐷 A considered in-store journey: We developed a comprehensive experience philosophy to ensure consistency in product presentation, customer service and in-store environment. 🐷 Creating signature products: We established a product and packaging hierarchy that turned individual products into heroes, creating new pathways into the Vic’s brand.
