Employees are ready for the future with AI: Germany in 1st place (according to a report by LinkedIn). New technologies are changing a wide range of everyday things and can bring enormous benefits, especially in the workplace. Under two conditions: firstly, AI tools must be introduced purposefully by the company and strategically rolled out for the workforce. Secondly, it is essential to train employees in the opportunities that these tools offer, so that they can create real added value in their individual activities. I am proud that at Merck Group, we are pioneering AI tools, just last week, we reached the next level with our internal AI solution, MyGPT Suite. What comes next is systematic onboarding of employees, because AI alone will not make the difference. It is rather the #digitalliteracy of the people in the company. via Euronews #artificialintelligence #futureofwork https://lnkd.in/dBW9pEMw

A.I. and the Transformation of Enterprise Learning Recently, I shared insights in the Financial Times article titled, “Employers look to AI tools to plug skill gaps and retain staff.” AI enables us to create highly personalized, adaptive learning experiences that respond to each associate’s unique needs, helping them build skills faster and more effectively. With AI, training can become more dynamic and targeted, allowing us to bridge skill gaps, foster retention, and prepare our teams for the future of work. Softer skills are where you should be upskilling your employees to better prepare them for the future. Current research indicates that future skills will emphasize human or "softer" skills. Attributes like curiosity, learning agility, and adaptability are predicted to be crucial because they are inherently human traits that machines or AI cannot replicate. I thoroughly enjoyed this insightful article by Indiana Gregg, which tackles and debunks misconceptions about AI's impact on the future of work. We're experiencing the rapid evolution of a technology that can increase productivity and create new job opportunities. In order to keep up, employers and employees need to bridge the skills gap through dedicated upskilling and reskilling efforts. Embracing this era of transformation requires a proactive approach from both, including: 💡Creating a continuous learning culture 💡Adopting professional development programs 💡Staying updated with changing technology In what ways is your company preparing for and integrating AI-driven changes?

A great read about the use of AI in the skills landscape!
📰 I'm quoted in the Financial Times talking about how human decision-making needs to review the safe and appropriate use of AI in the workplace. We at techUK believe that AI tools can be valuable in supporting tasks like connecting employees to learning resources, personalising learning pathways, making training content more accessible, and facilitating self-learning. But high-stakes evaluation and growth decisions are best suited to remain under human supervision - a hybrid approach leverages AI's capabilities while respecting the fundamentally human nature of professional development and growth. We need to ensure the responsible adoption of AI tools in the workplace, especially when used for decision-making, and put human-centric thinking at its heart.

As artificial intelligence continues to develop, its effects on the job market will be significant. This reality is not something business leaders can consider a future concern—it's an immediate challenge that needs attention and action. AI has the potential to make processes more efficient but may also lead to the elimination of certain positions, particularly those involving repetitive, well-defined tasks. What strategies should businesses employ? The solution involves creating a balance between the efficiencies provided by AI and enhancing the capabilities of the workforce. Positions that require high levels of skill are expected to prosper, whereas roles characterized by repetitiveness might be at risk. To navigate this shift, companies should focus on providing their employees with retraining and skills enhancement opportunities, positioning AI as an aid rather than a substitute. The new era of employment has arrived. Are you prepared? https://gag.gl/MnwtO3
