🌍 📈 Global growth in #renewable #energies could exceed current government targets for 2030. The International Energy Agency (IEA) predicts in a recent report that global renewable energy capacity could increase 2.7-fold by the end of the decade. This means that the countries' current targets would be exceeded by almost 25 per cent. 👉 The International Energy Agency (IEA) is forecasting a cumulative expansion of 5,500 GW of renewables between 2024 and 2030, which is almost equivalent to the total electricity demand of China, the EU, India and the USA. "Between 2024 and 2030, the world is expected to build over 5,500 gigawatts — or 5.5 terawatts — of renewable energy capacity. Between 2017 and 2023, the world added just over 2 terawatts of clean energy. China alone will build more than half of this total — 3.2 terawatts, to be precise — while the European Union and the U.S. are each set to build about one-tenth. India, forecast to build 350 gigawatts’ worth of renewables between now and 2030, will likely be the next biggest contributor." #DriveEnergyForward Read more: https://lnkd.in/gf7CH599?

🌍 Did you know? In 2023, global power capacity additions surged to a remarkable 473 GW - pushing the global total to 3,870 GW, with renewables leading the charge. According to the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), renewables accounted for 86% of capacity additions. However, this progress remains unevenly distributed worldwide, leaving a a lot of developing countries behind, despite massive economic and development needs. #Voltalia #renewableEnergy #energy #renewable #greenenergy #energytransition

🥇💨 Wind energy takes the lead. For the first time ever, in 2023 wind energy was the largest source of electric energy produced in Germany. With 31% it easily overtook coal, which contributed 26%. In total already 56% came from renewable sources, and the share keeps rising. Important takeaway: The energy grid didn’t collapse, as skeptics constantly predict. However, electric energy imports also grew strongly. For the first time since 2002 more electric energy was imported than exported. So no time to rest, more renewables must be established further, quickly. #renewables #windenergy Thanks for the data Statistisches Bundesamt (Destatis) .

Kazakhstan's renewable energy sector expands by over 30% in 2023 The total volume of green energy produced reached 6.6bn kWh in 2023. This overall expansion was driven largely by the wind energy sector, which saw a substantial rise in production, generating 3.7bn kWh—a 63.3% increase compared to the previous year. 👉Details: https://lnkd.in/d_V_Nhn7 #DaryoNews #KazakhstanRenewableEnergy #GreenEnergyGrowth #WindEnergyExpansion #KazakhstanEnergy2023

The International Energy Agency (IEA) projects “massive” renewables growth to 2030, with more than 5,500 GW of new #renewableenergy capacity anticipated globally between 2024 and the end of the decade. Global renewable capacity is expected to grow by 2.7 times from 2022 to 2030, outpacing current government goals for 2030 but still falling short of the tripling goal set at COP28, the IEA said in its Renewables 2024 report, released today. A new report by Ember suggests that global power sector emissions may have peaked last year, marking a potential turning point as the world transitions from coal- and gas-fired generation to clean, renewable energy. The data was featured in Canary Media Inc.'s chart of the week and shows renewables reached a record milestone in 2023, generating 30% of the world's electricity. This surge is largely driven by the incredible growth of solar and wind power over the past decade. https://bit.ly/3V5RJxj #renewableenergy #cleantech #sustainability
