Over 130 leaders and experts, including over 30 former heads of state and government from more than 40 countries, will gather in Madrid on 11–12 December for Imperial Springs International Forum 2024. This ninth edition, held for the first time outside China, serves as a pivotal platform for dialogue and cooperation between East and West, with a view to strengthening multilateralism amidst times of global challenges. Strengthening Israel-Sweden Innovation Ties: ISCC Meets with Swedish Embassy and Vinnova The Israel Sweden Chamber of Commerce (ISCC) was honored to meet with H.E. Ambassador Alexandra Rydmark, Trade Officer Ann-Katrin Skrek - Furulind, and Frida Rybo, Head of Vinnova Office Tel Aviv, at the Swedish Embassy in Israel. The ISCC was represented by Irma Kuperman - Davar, Meir Dudai, PhD and Michael Mizrahi, who engaged in productive discussions focused on enhancing bilateral innovation and business opportunities between our countries, with particular emphasis on sectors including health tech, climate tech, and cybersecurity. Insightful discussions are underway at the Week of Innovative Regions in Europe 2024 in Budapest! State-of-the-art infrastructure is a key building block in advancing EU regions’ development potential. Experts at the #WIRE24 conference are exploring how strong #partnerships within and between #ecosystems can build and sustain regions’ critical facilities and institutions to stimulate #innovation, #technology and #research. Panellists István Szabó PhDó, vice-president of the Hungarian Research Network (HUN-REN), and Ornela De Giacomo, deputy head of the Central European Research Infrastructure Consortium (CERIC), say their organisations are working to provide regional and global stakeholders access to pioneering research, as well as create platforms for #knowledge and resource sharing. Key outcomes from the summit include: International Peace and Security: The G7 leaders supported a comprehensive deal for Gaza to achieve a ceasefire and increase humanitarian aid. They also discussed strengthening alliances in the Indo-Pacific region and raised concerns about China's actions in the South China Sea (The White House) (World Economic Forum). Economic Resilience: There was a strong focus on protecting economic security by countering non-market policies and reducing supply chain dependencies. The G7 pledged to enhance cooperation on critical technologies and coordinate efforts to respond to economic coercion (The White House) (G7 Italy). Artificial Intelligence: AI was a major topic, with discussions emphasizing international cooperation's importance in managing AI risks and ensuring it benefits everyone. The G7 leaders agreed to launch an action plan for AI in the workplace and establish a group to address semiconductor supply chain issues (World Economic Forum). Climate Change: The G7 reaffirmed their commitments to phase out unabated coal power by the first half of the 2030s and triple renewable energy capacity by 2030. Support for Developing Countries: The G7 announced significant financial commitments, including a $50 billion loan for Ukraine and efforts to support developing countries with debt relief and investments in infrastructure.
