Essential Energy’s Post

Building the network of the future will empower communities to be a part of the energy transition. In this light, innovation in Armidale is looking up this week where seven pole-mounted batteries have been installed across the region. In partnership with Origin Energy, we are delighted to have the works complete with the next step being a trial of their use for energy exchange. This aims to evaluate the effectiveness of storing excess rooftop solar energy generated during the day and releasing it during peak demand times, such as at night when solar systems are inactive. By keeping locally generated energy within the community, we are not only enhancing our energy resilience but also pioneering an innovative approach in network management. Hopefully more of these with more home batteries can remove the need for the 5kW export limit on residential PV
