As we commemorate European Day on May 9th, it's crucial to acknowledge the strong and enduring relationship between the EU and Brazil. 🇪🇺 WALLONIA & BELGIUM: Wallonia, as a part of Belgium, has been a key player in the creation of the European Union, advocating for unity and cooperation among European nations. Belgian contributions to the EU's development have helped shape its values and objectives, fostering peace, prosperity, and solidarity across the continent. Through initiatives promoting cultural exchange, economic cooperation, and scientific research, the EU plays a pivotal role in strengthening ties with Brazil, contributing to mutual growth and prosperity. EU investments in Brazil contribute to the creation of dozens of thousands of jobs and foster employment and GDP growth through technology transfer and by integrating the EU subsidiaries in Brazil into the global chain value. 🇧🇷 BRAZIL: Brazil stands as an important partner for the European Union, with a relationship grounded in shared values; common goals and an important common cultural heritage. During my meeting in Bahrein at the Italian Embassy we discussed about international cooperation. My aim is to facilitate global peace, trade, development and the promotion of human rights. I do believe that international cooperation is a core life it is the real act of working together for a common purpose. To achieve this we need to share knowledge, resources and financial mechanism to overcome barriers such as lack of capitals and good governance. The international cooperation require always to have a cross- cultural understanding and awareness of what's happening beyond borders. 📝 As member states vie for top jobs in the new EU commission, no one seems to care about International Cooperation - Euronews describes the role as "the kind commissioners are warned they’ll get if they misbehave." The allocated money is already spent (much on Ukraine - https://bit.ly/448TPzt) and overarching guidance is already set by the Global Gateway. Commissioners "will get good air miles and Instagram content, but not much else." But that doesn't mean the EU's approach to international cooperation is static. Much has been churning beneath the surface that's only beginning to bubble up now.
