We are in full swing with the EWOB Board Readiness Program! Our spring cohort just completed session 4 on fiduciary and financial responsibilities of a non-executive director. Thank you Dr. Maria A. Boerner and Claire Toumieux from Allen & Overy for the insightful and particularly interactive discussion rich in practical examples. To all (aspiring) board directors, remember this important phrase: 👉 'Noses in, Fingers out'! Inquire thoughtfully, follow up with discernment, yet refrain from involving yourself in the operational side of the business. This is how an effective non-executive director works with the management and executives. 👉 And keep in mind: you don't need to know everything but for sure you need to know who to ask in the company. As we are all getting ready for our final session - in 2 weeks (!) - we want to thank all the participants for their engagement and commitment so far!
Good advice! It can be tempting to become involved operationally, but that i snot what we are there to do.
I'll be sure to remember the "Noses in and fingers out" rule. Thank you Dr. Maria A. Boerner and Claire Toumieux.
Great session indeed and another great opportunity to interact with many brilliant women. Thank you European Women on Boards (EWOB)
It was indeed an interesting and very interactive session, which I really enjoyed thanks to Dr. Maria A. Boerner and Claire Toumieux. Looking forward to the last sessions and then the (long) search starts...
