Live on Global radio stations today, it was revealed that 41 small charities would receive a grant raised by Global's Make Some Noise to help support the amazing work we do, totalling over £2.6 million for life changing projects in local communities across the UK. This year, GFS has been awarded £56,290! Grants like this help services like ours to give girls across England and Wales the support they need. According to surveys of the charities supported by Global’s Make Some Noise, 92% of the charities reported an increase in need for support in the last year, in some cases seeing demand grow by more than 50%, while facing increases in cost and a downturn in donations. Small charities today are facing many challenges, but the services we offer are vital to building a better world. Communities in PNG🇵🇬 are often more inclined to support charitable causes than to uplift producers, especially entrepreneurs. While we readily donate and raise funds for sports and other social activities, there is a noticeable reluctance to extend the same level of support to entrepreneurs. Instead of continually relying on charity to fuel growth, we must recognize that investing in entrepreneurs is investing in sustainable development. Supporting those who create, innovate, and drive the economy forward is just as essential as supporting other causes.

FIA CEO Katherine Raskob MIM, GAICD Raskob spoke to Hillary Harper on this morning's Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) Radio National program about the cost-of-living crisis's impact on charitable donations. Australians are struggling; more than a quarter of those surveyed in the FIA/More Strategic Pty Ltd recent (May 2024) survey on public attitudes to giving, say they will give less in the next year, with 73% saying it's due to their economic situation as a result of rising costs. This is while the demand for the services that charities provide is increasing exponentially. A worrying trend.
