EPL is a Charity that support families with Special Needs in Singapore through community-supported initiatives.
About us
Extra•Ordinary People is a charity with Institution of Public Character (IPC) status aiming to support families with Special Needs children in Singapore through community-supported initiatives. At Extra•Ordinary People, our mission is to support every family with special needs in Singapore through community-supported initiatives. We began our journey with the special needs community through the performing arts. Our signature event, An Extra•Ordinary Celebration, is Singapore’s largest inclusive concert. In 2019, we had over 900 local and international differently abled performers on stage! Over the years, EPL expanded to offer therapy and caregiver support services, supporting the developmental growth of children and youth with special needs. Under our Shining Stars Integrated Programme, Special Needs community will be prepped with daily living and 21st century skills through art and play. Those aged 18 years and above are kept meaningfully occupied through supported employment and various projects like Creative Lab and Extra•Ordinary Orange Enzyme, which nurtures artists and finds platforms to exhibit and market their works. Our BE. Programme imparts caregivers with techniques to build resilience and reduce stress. We are also organisers of An Extra•Ordinary Celebration, Singapore’s largest inclusive concert featuring differently abled talents in the performing arts. The Integrated Programme (Family-Centred Support for Community-Based Integration) aims to support both family caregivers and PWDs as they seek to transit into the post-18 space, focusing on individualised supports based on each family’s circumstances and needs. The programme offers holistic support that targets both PWDs and family caregivers. The family-centred intervention is transdisciplinary, focusing on play, arts, as well as more traditional community-based and employment-based supports to support families as they transit into the community.

Our beneficiaries Kaushik and Reuel had an incredible time on ICAP Charity Day, exploring the bustling trading floor of ICAP Singapore, trying out colourful props, and mingling with ICAP staff. They even got to meet local sports heroes like Joseph Schooling and Veronica Shanti Pereira ! ICAP Charity Day on 11 December 2024 shows that raising funds for meaningful causes can also be full of joy and connection. We’re honoured to be one of the five charity beneficiaries of today’s ICAP trading floor proceeds, which will directly support our mission. Together, let’s continue making extraordinary differences in the lives of our beneficiaries! #ICAPCharityDay #wearecharityday #creativefundraising #creativegiving #corporategiving

Witnessing talent in action is always inspiring — our beneficiary, Thaddeus, from Extra•Ordinary People's Creative Lab brought the blank covers of journals to life with his illustrations at Bank of Singapore, Asia's Global Private Bank's Christmas Bazaar. His speed, precision, and creativity garnered countless "wow" reactions, and within just two hours, every notebook was sold out! 🎨 Thank you to the wonderful Bank of Singapore team, especially Angeline, Steph, Lan Fong, and Ming Zheng, for volunteering with us and to Amy, the auctioneer, for helping raise funds for our cause. We're also grateful to all the generous staff who supported our merchandise, furthering our mission to empower individuals with special needs. This Christmas season, let's celebrate the power of art to inspire, connect, and champion inclusion. 💫 Curious about what fuels our artists' creativity? Bring their extraordinary talent to your event! 📩 Contact us at contact@extraordinarypeople.sg to learn more. #artistautism #inclusiveart #corporategiving #doinggoodtogether

Extra•Ordinary People is grateful to BRANDS FOR GOOD for spreading the joy of Christmas at the World Christmas Market 2024 held at The Promontory @ Marina Bay. 🌟 This thoughtful outing on 9 Dec for a group of our beneficiaries brought smiles, gratitude, and so much happiness to our beneficiaries with special needs and their families. Sharing meals not only warmed hearts but also strengthened bonds. ❤️ This act of kindness is a beautiful reminder of the true spirit of giving during this festive season. It’s the small things that often leave the biggest impact. Thank you for adding to the warmth of this season. #WorldChristmasMarket #BrandsForGood #SpiritOfGiving #FestiveJoy #ThankYou

Though the heavy rains paused our planned Walk for Rice on 22 November 2024, the spirit of community and generosity shone bright! We had the privilege of touring EY's office alongside Mayor Fahmi Aliman of Southeast CDC. Walk for Rice, a signature event of EY encourages building stronger community ties while staying active by walking or running for a meaningful and worthy cause. We are grateful for EY and South East CDC for their vital roles in connecting resources and partners to uplift the community. We are thankful for the incredible effort put in by the EY family in raising funds for Camp Extraordinary 2025, a camp for persons with disabilities and special needs that offers them an enriching and transformative experience. This support creates a ripple effect of positive changes for campers and their families. Special thanks to Mayor Fahmi Aliman, Nam Soon Liew (EY Asean Regional Managing Partner), Panneer Selvam (EY Asean People Advisory Services Tax Leader), and the EY team for your unwavering support! 💙

🌟 Soaking in the Magic of Christmas with UOB & Extra•Ordinary People! 🎄 This holiday season, we were thrilled to collaborate with UOB for a heartwarming 2-day Charity Pop-Up at UOB Plaza on 4-5 December, bringing music, joy, and the spirit of inclusivity to life. Our beneficiaries from the Extra•Ordinary Music Company shared beautiful carols, filling the air with warmth and hope. Staff from UOB and other nearby offices visited our booth to learn more about the meaningful connections Extra•Ordinary People fosters with our beneficiaries. Many showed their support by learning more about how we bridge the learning and work divide faced by our beneficiaries, particularly those in the post-18 age group. A heartfelt moment during this event was when our CEO, Mr Ivan Chin, presented Scrumpee the Bear—a symbol of love, care, and hope—to CEO of UOB, Mr Wee Ee Cheong, as a token of appreciation for UOB's steadfast commitment to inclusivity. ✨ Thank you to everyone who supported our booth through purchase of merchandise and donations! Every purchase supports our talented artists and helps our beneficiaries gain independence through their crafts and vocations. Your support goes a long way in empowering them and encouraging their growth. Please continue to support our charity and its programmes by donating at https://lnkd.in/gNrTHQb4. Plus, all donations qualify for a 250% tax deduction! #charitybazaar #festivecheer #extraordinarypeoplesg
