🚨 Today is #GivingTuesday, and Urban Triage is on a mission to make history! 🚨 We have set a bold goal to raise $40,000 to support our community and provide life-changing resources to youth aging out of foster care. Here’s why this matters: ➡️ 20,000 young people age out of foster care each year in the U.S. ➡️ 1 in 5 will face homelessness within a year of aging out. ➡️ Only 50% are employed by age 24. ➡️ Less than 3% will earn a college degree by age 25. With your support, we can provide housing, job readiness, trauma recovery, and peer support for young adults who need it most. Every dollar makes an impact. Why Choose Urban Triage? Unlike businesses that focus on profit, we are community-driven—100% of your donations are reinvested into programs that directly serve the people who need it most. Nonprofits are the backbone of positive change, and we need your support this holiday season to continue our mission. 🔗 Donate Today: https://lnkd.in/gBZ4-Fr2 📣 Share this post, amplify our message, and help us reach our goal! Thank you for your support in empowering our youth and strengthening our community. Together, we can make a lasting difference. 💪🏾 #UrbanTriage #SupportOurYouth #CommunityImpact #NonprofitMatters #DonateNow #MakeADifference

It takes a village, and we are so thankful for ours. Together, we make a remarkable impact on vulnerable children and the families caring for them. Friends, families, partners, and supporters— you mean so much to us and you make this work possible. Truly, we couldn’t do this without you. With #GivingTuesday approaching, we asked our champion donors why they choose to support families alongside us, and we consider it a gift to share some of their stories with you. As a foster parent, Angela’s story reminds us of how vital it is for kids and families to feel seen, heard, and cared for from day one. “While we also support larger non-profits, we prefer to donate closer to home with organizations that are change-makers in our own community. Foster the Family provides wrap-around care for children experiencing foster care and the families caring for them. For the child, the exit from their everyday lives is often without warning. Similarly, for the individual or families taking them in, little notice is given, often less than an hour! During an already bumpy transition, most children arrive without necessities like clothing, backpacks, or toiletries. And sure, these may seem like small things, but without feeling comfortable with the small things, it’s difficult to grasp the significance of, let alone focus on, the bigger things – even kids recognize the importance of basic needs and how it makes them feel. FTF has identified this speed bump and made it easier for families and kids to not worry about the small stuff in the early days, and instead focus on the bigger picture of safety, security, and care. This was our experience as a new foster family when we accepted our first child, just two weeks after our family’s approval. Other than the social worker who brought him to our home, FTF was the very first knock on our door delivering a lifesaving "parachute of goodies" for all of us in the home, and we are forever grateful! Our family is frequently asked about our journey and how one might help us or the foster community. If this is a question you’ve asked yourself, please consider donating to Foster the Family.” - Angela #BeTheVillage #FosterTheFamily

📣 CALLING ALL CHANGE MAKERS 📣 William Ury's book Possible introduces us to the third side. Our community 🌍 needs you 👉 to be the third side. TLP’s mission is safeguarding childhoods through fostering family connections. The best predictor of whether children fare well during and following parental separation is the duration and degree of conflict. Conflict is natural and inevitable, but combat is optional. 47% of Kansas families with children struggled to pay their regular household expenses last week, family divide only causes further financial strain on families. The families who need our services the most can’t afford them, and as a result have no true access to justice and are unable to reach their highest potential, resulting in the cycle of intergenerational trauma. The Layne Project needs your help to transform the way families in transition deal with conflict, and expand our reach to all families in need. Presently, we are acting under our fiscal sponsor, Kansas Alliance for Nonprofits to give us the ability to apply for funding, and to accept donations in order to offer individual grants and scholarships to families in need. Kansas Alliance for Non-Profits (KAN) is a 501(c)(3). However, The Layne Project must transform to a 501(c)(3) to achieve our mission. In order for us to continue to serve our communities families and expand our reach this must happen with urgency. Any contribution, direction or insight would be greatly appreciated. Donations are increadibly helpful, but equally as helpful would be time and knowledge and willingness to volunteer to be on our board. Donations can be made on our website, www.thelayneproject.com. If you want to help or can share knowledge that will help us move swiftly in this direction, please message me. #possible #williamury #thirdside #thelayneproject #safeguardingchildhoods #coparenting

🌟 Did You Know? 🌟 Adoption costs can range from $25,000 to $50,000, and often are even more. For many families, this financial barrier is a heavy burden—but it doesn’t have to be. At Omnah, we believe finances shouldn’t stand in the way of bringing children into loving, Christ-centered homes. That’s why we offer give-forward adoption grants to help families cover the costs of adoption. Every dollar we offer has been paid forward by others just like you who have a heart to see children come into loving homes. ➡️ Here’s How It Works: 1️⃣ Families Apply: Christian families in need of financial assistance can apply for a grant through our simple application process. 2️⃣ Support from Donors: Thanks to the generosity of our community, 100% of donations go directly to supporting adoptive families. 3️⃣ Paid-Forward Model: Families who receive support are encouraged to pay it forward by giving to other families in the future. It’s a beautiful cycle of generosity and care. 🙌 Want to get involved? Whether through donations or prayers, YOU can make a lasting difference. I really like this campaign for foster care #donateyoursmalltalk . A lot of times when people think about charity, they think about monetary donations, so people who cannot or do not want to donate might mentally check out when charity comes up. But an issue like placing foster children requires so much help beyond the monetary. When you take a second to think about the stats in these PSAs, it's difficult to look away: Over 400,000 kids are in foster care right now Over 700 kids enter the foster care system every day Every year, 25,000 children age out of the foster care system and will be completely on their own It takes 34 months on average for a foster kid to get adopted Peppering in important topics like this in our regular conversation has a limitless ROI. Maybe you're not the person to volunteer, foster or donate monetarily, and maybe the first person you bring a topic like this up to won't be either, but the more that important information like this spreads around, the more likely it is that the people who are ready to help will find out about it and match with a cause that they feel ready and compelled to donate their time and abilities to. https://lnkd.in/gnGjaDHN

Get Ready for the Feel Good, #Underdog Story of the Year! I am a former foster and adopted child, and a teen runaway. My teacher helped me access lifesaving resources when I ran on December 3, 2001. I was 17. Two days before Christmas, my teacher received custody and I had a home for Christmas. It is not my first experience with this - I left foster care and moved in with my maternal aunt and family two days before Christmas in 1990. CLCL Foundation only exists because no one else wanted to house runaway, homeless, and abandoned children or young people experiencing mental health crisis. In fact, the WEALTHIEST municipalities in #NJ send their local youth in crisis to Camden, Trenton, Newark, Atlantic City, and Bridgewater -- ALL THE POOREST Municipalities in NJ. Doing this not only segregates the populations who experience mental health, housing, and family crisis, but it also forces young people to choose between safe housing and staying in their local community. Youth will RISK the DANGERS and stay local, where peer groups, school, and support systems exist. Moving them to other areas that are overburdened and underfunded only hurts both communities. Born on December 30, 2023 - CLCL has made remarkable achievements in less than 1-year. Recipient of the Federal FYSB Basic Center Program grant, registered 501(c)(3), with Pilot Programs being tested by an esteemed researcher in this field. We NEED YOU TO DONATE OR THIS WON'T BE SUCCESSFUL! WE WILL IMPROVE FUTURE OUTCOMES for young people and families, BUT ONLY WITH YOUR HELP! https://lnkd.in/g3jXfQJp #YouthHomelessness #AdolescentCrisis #MentalHealthCrisis #RisingTeenSuicide #RisingTeenAddiction #RisingTeenDomesticViolence #BeTheChange #Chooselove #Celebratelife #WeNeedYou #Donate #Mission #LivesAreAtStake

Did you know that in King County and Seattle, the true cost of child care for an infant in a child care center consumes about 35% of the median household income for a family? This figure significantly exceeds the 7% of household income threshold recommended by the Federal Administration for Children and Families as affordable. This stark difference highlights the financial challenges many families face in accessing quality child care. At Kids Co. we are committed to helping as many families as we can to be able to afford necessary child care and early learning opportunities to their children. We urge you to consider donating, becoming a board member, or just spreading the word to make a difference. Every day, foster youth who have faced trauma, instability, and neglect are at an increased risk of exploitation by traffickers. For these young people, a safe home is more than just a roof over their heads. It’s the foundation they need to heal, rebuild, and reclaim their future. RAISE THE ROOF is not just about constructing buildings, it’s about creating a sanctuary where youth can find security, support, and love. Magdalena’s Daughters Village will provide these youth with a safe space to heal from their past, access education, and dream of a future free from the horrors of trafficking. But we can’t do it without you. We need your support to raise $250,000 to purchase the land that will serve as the foundation for these life-saving homes. Your donation is more than just a contribution. It’s an investment in a young person’s future. Every dollar you give helps us create a space where these youth can find the stability they’ve been denied. Please, stand with us in this mission.
