Alarming new food security projections for Sudan published today show that the country is facing a devastating hunger catastrophe on a scale not seen since the Darfur crisis in the early 2000s, warn FAO Director-General QU Dongyu, UNICEF Executive Director Catherine Russell and World Food Programme Executive Director Cindy McCain. Collectively the agencies have mobilised a large-scale humanitarian response inside Sudan and in neighbouring countries where more than 2 million refugees have sought safety. An immediate ceasefire and renewed international efforts – both diplomatic and financial – as well as unhindered and sustained humanitarian access, are urgently needed to enable the humanitarian response to be further expanded and to allow the agencies to deliver at the speed needed. https://lnkd.in/dyAcy_qZ

"An estimated 7.1 million people are likely to be exposed to high levels of acute food insecurity between April and July 2024," the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs said in a statement. It added that within that group, "79,000 people are at risk of catastrophic levels (level five of the food security classification)," which is equivalent to famine, "most of them in places affected by climate-related shocks, economic crises and conflict." Nearly 13 years after gaining independence in 2011, the world's newest country continues to suffer from instability and widespread violence. Read more

SUstainable Development Goals, - Zero Hunger SDG 2 Sudan The ongoing conflict in Sudan has significantly worsened food insecurity, leading to hunger and forcing many people, particularly young people, to flee the country. The violence has disrupted agricultural production, trade, and humanitarian aid, making it difficult for people to access food and other basic necessities. As a result, many are migrating to neighboring countries or other regions in search of safety and better living conditions. This mass displacement further strains resources in host communities and exacerbates the humanitarian crisis in the region. #zerohungerSDG2 #PeaceForSudanYouth Amel Abu El-Hassan, Ali Bibi Ali Osman Ali Ibrahim, Alex Hong, Mohamed Adam Tajer GB Langa, Malala Fund, Roger Federer, World Climate Foundation, African Development Bank Group, SADC Secretariat,COMESA Secretariat, UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency United Nations FAO, HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan , UN Sustainable Development Group, Malala Fund, UN Nutrition Secretariat, King Charles III Charitable Fund, Dear leaders, we seek your intervention in this important matter, famine will bring food insecurity and rob the qu of line that is already challenging in Sudan. Mr./Dr. Stephen Omollo (WFP ASSISTANT EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR), currently briefing The Security Council of SUDAN:We understand what you're saying. Yes, IT's THAT BAD. How can we Donate "DIRECTLY TO THE HUMANITARIAN AID WORKING IN SUDAN CURRENTLY?" Could you CREATE a link to DIRECTLY ensure this PLEASE? Or will it just be taken from WFP resources and budget through general donations to the World Food Programme? That's how donations work: but Because by the time the money has Correctly been allotted, a LOT of these Citizens and Residents IN SUDAN(or displaced further!) WILL DIE OF FAMINE AND DEHYDRATION. WHILE I write THIS,1 person to 3,ARE DYING. If you CAN do this, by getting the OK: we who give KNOW the Donations we make are only in accordance to assess then split according to highest of demands & to Support that makeshit infrastructres and the AID WORKERS I Highly suggest you come up with"A SPECIFIC LINK"where people can Directly"DONATE-TO-SUDAN"(the cause, to be allotted as necessary, BUT for 1 country's conflict ONLY) WFP covers SO much territory.SO many conflicts. MEGAteams work on the budgeting:but this is VERY pressing¬ in the news A DIRECT LINK WILL HELP, I PROMISE! THIS IDEA WILL MAKE AN IMPACT ASAP, Sir. Thank you-R.K.

#SAS #TravelSecurity #SecurityServices #Sudan: The UN's World Food Program (WFP) has issued a warning about Sudan, stating that the country is on the verge of experiencing the worst hunger crisis in the world. According to Leni Kinzli, WFP's spokesperson in Sudan, time is running out to prevent starvation as clashes in El Fasher are impeding humanitarian assistance efforts. The ongoing conflict in Sudan has resulted in an unprecedented hunger catastrophe, with limited food aid reaching the regions of El Fasher and Darfur due to fighting and bureaucratic obstacles. WFP aims to reach 700,000 people before the rainy season, but distribution is hindered by logistical constraints. The escalating conflict in El Fasher is exacerbating the already dire situation for the 1.7 million people suffering from hunger. Approximately 28 million people in Sudan and South Sudan are facing food insecurity. WFP urgently calls for unhindered access and security guarantees, while reminding all parties involved of their obligations under international humanitarian law. El Fasher is controlled by the Sudanese army, supported by armed movements that signed a peace agreement with the government in 2020. It is crucial for the international community to take action in response to this crisis. #Investigations #Intelligence #Securityservices #Executiveprotection #Securitymanagement #Travelrisk #Travelsecurity #Riskanalysis #Securitylogistic For info: S.A.S. investigations and security Phone: +39 0463 901545 Web: www.sasinvestigation.com Mail. info@sasinvestigation.com

Key Points The Gaza Strip Intense Israeli Security Forces (ISF) bombardment from the air, land and sea continued across much of the Gaza Strip, resulting in further civilian casualties, displacement and destruction of civilian infrastructure. ISF airstrikes continue also in heavily populated Rafah in southern Gaza. Famine[1] is imminent in Gaza, especially to isolated populations in northern Gaza, deprived of humanitarian assistance. On 18 March Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) released its latest food security outlook and concluded that up to 1.1 million people in Gaza are facing catastrophic levels of food insecurity. The report highlights the fast-deteriorating food security conditions, including a nearly 80 per cent increase in the number of people facing the highest classification of food insecurity since December, when the initial assessment was conducted. The increase has been triggered by the intensity of hostilities, extremely limited humanitarian access and severe limitations on the supply of goods and basic services. Nutrition screenings conducted in February by UNICEF and UNRWA show that rates of acute malnutrition among children in northern Gaza and Rafah have nearly doubled since January. The IPC report also predicts a worsening of malnutrition rates unless aid increases and reaches the most vulnerable and hard to reach populations. The first 17 days of March saw an average of 159 aid trucks per day crossing into the Gaza Strip. This remains well below the operational capacity of both border crossings and the target of 500 per day, with challenges at both Karem Abu Salem (Kerem Shalom) and Rafah. Security to manage the crossings has been severely impacted due to the killing of several Palestinian policemen in Israeli airstrikes near the crossings in early February. As of 16 March, the total number of UNRWA colleagues killed since the beginning of hostilities is 168. As of 18 March, up to 1.7 million* people (over 75 per cent of the population) ** have been displaced across the Gaza Strip, the majority multiple times.*** Families are forced to move repeatedly in search of safety. Following intense Israeli bombardments and fighting in Khan Younis and the Middle Area in recent weeks, a significant number of displaced people have moved further south.

The ongoing conflict in Sudan has intensified a humanitarian crisis, with severe funding cuts and security challenges for aid organizations like the WFP and UNICEF. Vulnerable groups, particularly women and children, face acute malnutrition, heightened disease risk, and increased gender-based violence. Armed groups are exploiting food scarcity, deepening civilians’ dependency and complicating peace efforts. Sudanese women, especially in refugee settings, are at high risk of coercion, harassment, and exploitation, highlighting an urgent need for coordinated international assistance to stabilize the region. #OSINT #AFRICOM #Sudan #SudanCrisis #HumanitarianAid #HealthCrisis #InternationalSecurity #Breaking https://lnkd.in/ga4xfSqN
