🌱 Bioeconomy Changemakers Festival: Transformative Innovations of the EINSTEIN Project. On March 14th, 2024, the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Novi Sad was a gathering place and knowledge-sharing hub for all those aiming to engage youth for transformative change and wanting to unlock the potentials of Bioeconomy. The Bioeconomy Changemakers Festival is organized by the Directorate-General for Research and Innovation of the European Commission. Total of 30 satellite events across Europe, 18 countries EU Bioeconomy Youth Ambassadors, one high-level event in Brussels, and 15 EU Bioeconomy Youth Ambassadors 🙋 marked this Festival. 🎯 Focus: Gather views for an update on the Bioeconomy Strategy of the European Commission. 📌 Locations: A high-level event in Brussels, more than 30 satellite events across Europe. The satellite event Bioeconomy Changemakers Festival for Serbia is the only one outside the EU and was organized at the University of Novi Sad, Faculty of Agriculture. We have recently visited Asclepios Tech, our Ag Tech SME partner in #Toulouse. Using smart and respectful communication with plants through light signals: 🌍 Protect plants against pathogens and climate change. 🍅 Extend fruits and vegetables shelf life. 👩🌾 Improve their commercial and nutritional qualities. ♻ Considerably reduce food losses and waste. ⚗Limit the use of chemical inputs. ✋🏻 Avoid food-borne diseases. This workshop aimed to equip the consortium with a shared understanding of how to effectively exploit research results and implement IPR management strategies to protect our valuable outcomes.🔐 María C. ⚗ 🌿 The AVI Biofungate project has successfully concluded!   Led by our R&D team as a partner, through Idai Nature, one of the 12 companies in the Rovensa Next business unit, the project developed an innovative encapsulation system for essential oils (EOs), which degrade easily in the environment and have biological activity against plant pathogens.   Using mesoporous silica materials with biomolecular gates, the system releases EOs in a controlled way in the presence of pathogenic fungi. Two biocontrol solutions were formulated and validated in the field, showing great potential. The ESA BSGN | Business in Space Growth Network's 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲 𝐀𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬 are advancing the use of space technology to support innovation and bringing tangible benefits to life on Earth.⁣ A prime example is the project led by Sophie's BioNutrients, a company using precision fermentation technology to grow alternative protein with microalgae to provide sustainable food solutions.⁣ With the support of Yuri and the ESA BSGN Industry Accelerators, Sophie’s Bionutrients is preparing to bring this project to the 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 next year. 🌊 Blue Bio Value Chain & Social Enterprises Cases is one of the latest deliverables of BlueBioClusters Project 🇪🇺' that pretends to highlight companies operating in the blue bioeconomy value chains in coastal regions. Eight companies based in the targetted regions of the project shared their pathway and their impact on the region. As part of the consortium, BlueBio Alliance is focusing its activities on the established community of practice in Peniche (CoP Peniche), engaging stakeholders operating in the field to foster their transition for a more sustainable blue bioeconomy. 🐟 Based in Peniche, SEAentia was invited to share its pathway across other European regions. 🔅 #BioBio2024 Conference was successfully concluded! 🍃 The conference, organised between 16-20 June 2024, in Prague, was a huge success, and it was genuinely motivating to see diverse insights from all EU Bioremediation Cluster projects. We want to thank Dr. Akanksha Mishra and Dr. Rocío Barros, for representing BIOSYSMO Project and showcasing our project’s capabilities. MIBIREM, SYMBIOREM Project, Nymphe, ISLANDR Horizon EU and EDAPHOS were also there to present their progress, making it an inspiring and colorful workshop.
