Communicating the benefit of the benefit! How does one deliver a banal benefit like cleaning better? Many brands show it in contrast to the uncleaned surface, the typical swipe of scrubber or cloth on a greasy pan or dirty glass. But CIF in this ad delivers not just the benefit that is a clean surface, but the benefit of the benefit.  The ad uses the familiar setup of many famous thriller films, where the unaware woman loses her life to the unanticipated killer. Only in this case, the objects around her are so clean, that their surface reflects the impending threat, allowing the women to escape. Looking at ourselves on reflective surfaces is a common behavior, we all check ourselves out on the steel surfaces of the lift or windows of stores etc. The film takes the same idea and extends it to seeing others on a clean reflective surface.  While the tag line of Pick CIF, save time, doesn’t to the film in general. Starting July 1, 2024, a new is to take effect in California - the “Honest Pricing Law” (Senate Bill 478) takes effect, aiming to eliminate hidden fees and promote price transparency.
