Increasingly, since the pandemic, our Primary Academies have seen that more of our families are struggling. Too often, we see children coming to school in damaged shoes, in clothes that are too small; we see children, and families, going hungry; we hear from children that they don’t have any toys or books at home. We believe it is our duty to do what we can to change this. This is why we are opening Community Hubs: so that families in need can come to collect essential items. Our supporters have been instrumental in making these Community Hubs happen, pledging financial support and donations of items. Could you, or your company, help? Change takes time. It also takes a village. A town. A region. A community. But where do you start to support positive change, especially now in the colder months as millions of people's urgent needs become more significant? ❄ It's a tough choice whether to support people's mental health, heating bills, bereavement support, food hubs, youth clubs, or financial aid. However, giving through one channel - a community foundation - can address all the immediate issues within your own community and help to support longer-term solutions, regardless of an area's size or location. How is this achieved? Accredited community foundations are dotted all over the UK. They work with grassroots groups and charitable networks to transform people's lives within the community, and they do this thanks to the fantastic commitment of donors. At Project Protect Our Children, we believe that youth can become champions in the fight to end human trafficking when given the right opportunities. That’s why we created the Youth Action Board Program—to ENGAGE, EDUCATE, and EMPOWER passionate middle and high school students. Conceptualized in 2019 and launched in 2020, this unparalleled groundbreaking program empowers students to create and lead impactful anti-human trafficking campaigns, events, and activities, reaching their peers in ways only they can. Our Youth Action Board Community of Practice platform offers everything needed to start and sustain a student-led anti-human trafficking club at your school or community—free of charge, including a stipend for a school campus sponsor. Together, Youth Action Board members collaborate to develop innovative events and activities that not only raise awareness about human trafficking but also fill critical gaps and make a significant, tangible impact. This diverse group of students brings together different perspectives, experiences, and cultural backgrounds, united by the goal of ending human trafficking.
