How competitive are the framework parameters for the European #drone economy compared to competitors from China or the USA? Is Germany, for example, losing touch with the major growth markets? Recent reports about the #AAM pioneers Volocopter and Lilium, as well as signals from other parts of the #UAS industry, give reason to fear that the seeds are being sown in Germany but harvested elsewhere in the world. Looking at the experience of other industries such as PV technology, this concern is not without reason. "We must not repeat the mistakes of the past when it comes to future technologies," Dr. Gerald Wissel, CEO of UAV DACH, warns. "Jobs, suppliers - large parts of the entire value chain will otherwise once again be left to China and the USA." Creating suitable framework conditions for an international, successful UAS industry is one of the key objectives of the #Unmanned Aviation Association. "A lot of companies in the industry are facing the same challenges in terms of regulation and socio-economic conditions. Therefore, it is in the interest of individual companies and the industry as a whole to develop specific demands and speak with one voice," underlines Dr. Gerald Wissel. Experts from various member companies are currently working in the UAV DACH Competence and Application Groups to identify the most critical problems and formulate proposals for solutions that can be implemented in European and national regulations. "We need to get drones into the air in an economically sustainable way in order to really unlock the industry's potential," demands Wissel. "To do this, we now need clear signals from politicians and society that Germany is committed to the future technology of drones. This will create trust among companies, investors and the general public." Would you like to get involved in the work of UAV DACH and its specialist groups? Then we look forward to hearing from you! geschaeftsstelle@uavdach.org

„We need a clear commitment to the drone industry“, says Dr. Gerald Wissel, Chairman UAVDACH - Unmanned Aviation Association, in the post below. We could not agree more. However, beyond this actions are required to strengthen the German drone industry, as Thorsten Indra, commented, by de-regulation and fostering a competitive environment for the German drone industry and - even more so - the users of drone technology and services. The result will be that facility and security managers and operators of industrial facilities, critical infrastructures and linear infrastructure operators, as well as government agencies, delivery services, engineering and construction offices, security- and inspection-service providers, etc. can benefit by tangible progress in the automated, flexible and efficiently scalable use of drones in Germany. The technologies are available. They are constantly being improved by dedicated and innovative companies. Let's boldly rethink regulation: from prevention to enablement! #UAV #Drones #Technology #Germany #Revolution https://lnkd.in/eCi4tcPs
