It was a pleasure to represent CLEPA - European Association of Automotive Suppliers last week at the 76th session of the UN Working Party on Passive Safety (UN GRSP). ✅ A CLEPA proposal amending UN Regulation No. 17 was adopted. This proposal aims to improve the whiplash behaviour of occupants of smaller stature. This is a first concrete achievement of the ongoing work in GRSP to provide equitable and enhanced protection of a diverse population. 🔋 A major step forward was achieved in electric vehicle safety with the adoption of an amendment of UN Regulation No. 100 introducing robust procedures to assess thermal propagation performances that enable harmonized implementation. 🚗🚚🚌 GRSP discussed the status of the screening of the non-ADS regulations to make them ready to approve automated vehicles by 2026. Interesting exchanges took place on how to ensure that the basic safety requirements of these vehicles are fulfilled in case they are out of scope of current regulations because they do not carry occupants. As a driver, there’s resources out there to help drivers, the one I’ve found a lot of succes in is FMCSA. This avenue does work, it just might take a few months to get a response. A driver has a right to drive safe equipment and not be coerced into driving unsafe. It’s your CDL and your future, always remember that. 🚛🥇🇺🇸 Always get the behavior in writing on your ELD, in an email or in a text message and take pictures of the issue if possible. It will be helpful when they ask for supporting documents.

DOT Week starts Monday. ARE YOU PREPARED? Coincidentally, trucking professionals always plan their family vacations on the same week each year. Perhaps it's to beat the MDW vacation rates? 🤷♂️ We may never know, but we can be certain that truck capacity will drop and cause an inflation in freight rates. Get your shipments prebooked or be ready to see missed pickup appointments. #freight #transportation #DOTWeek #trucking #logistics #3pl #supplychain #manufacturing #procurement

ISPO is a standard of best practice for maritime pilot organizations, improving safety and quality. ISPO provides self-regulation and transparency in pilotage standards to all port related stakeholders. The total number of pilot organizations that comply with the ISPO code has risen to 35, representing approximately 1400 pilots. More and more Pilot organizations appreciate the benefits of the standard and the ISPO family is growing continuously. The 2024 ISPO Conference will focus on handling of a serious incident by a mock court related to ISPO topics. Interesting speakers from pilot organizations, authorities, lawyers, safety council, human factors, training, etc. will discuss the various topics related to ISPO. We look forward to meeting ISPO pilots and organisations in Melbourne soon. ISPO | International Standard for maritime Pilot Organizations

Our number one value is no compromises on human safety. The entire seaglider development and manufacturing process – from design and testing to operations and the passenger experience – focuses on ensuring passenger, crew, and vessel safety. That’s why we partner with organizations that share this core value, like Lloyd’s Register, to make safety a priority throughout our certification journey and beyond.
