Last week, my colleague Nuo Wang and I were deeply engaged in extensive data collection at ECOMONDO - ITALIAN EXHIBITION GROUP, one of the most important trade fairs in Europe for green and circular economy. We interviewed more than 30 companies and organisations to build a panel aimed at analyzing how global value chains and multinational business models are evolving in response to policies and strategies focused on preserving our planet. It was incredible to see how much technology has advanced to support this transition, offering solutions that seemed unthinkable just yesterday. We sincerely thank the many companies and institutions from all over the world that took the time to share their commitment to this journey. The analysis we are currently conducting will be integrated into the project "The Dynamics of Global Value Chains and Italian SMEs: Resilience and Sustainability-Oriented Strategic Scenarios" by Università degli Studi di Pavia, funded by the PE GRINS - Growing Resilient, Inclusive and Sustainable - program of NextGenerationEU. #NextGenerationEU #GRINS #SMEs #PMIs #MNEs #GVCs #Greeneconomy #Circulareconomy #EnvironmentalSustainability #greentransition #Businessmodel #panelanalysis

Is sustainability becoming the “new normal” for businesses? That was the title of the event organized by Quantis held on April 10th at the Swiss center. It’s positive that embedding sustainability into business strategies is becoming “normal”, however in Fedrigoni we believe that the journey has just started. Urgent actions are needed to improve impacts on environment and society, that’s why our motto is Making Progress by embracing transformation everyday. The event featured a cross-industry roundtable discussion where Micaela Di Trana , Lorenzo Centi of Bally, and Mirko Garbero of Venchi shared their insights on the challenges that businesses face in implementing different practices. These range from managing agile supply chains to complying with international demanding directives, to leveraging open innovation, and creating transparent reliable communication strategies to engage customers in the sustainability journey. There is no "normal" way of doing things when it comes to sustainability, because the purpose is not to do business as usual. #makingprogress

I was honoured to present my findings on our paper titled: The impact of sustainability strategy on technology adoption in Logistics: a perspective on user's perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use. Co-authored with Nikolaos Valantasis Kanellos and Kamalavelu Velayutham at the #LRN2024 hosted by TU Dublin. The research project delivered valuable insights. - The crucial role of users in technology adoption in achieving success and exposing limitations - A comprehensive understanding of internal and external factors in technology adoption for sustainability strategy implementation requires a joint perspective though an integrated TAM-TOE framework. - External factors such as ethical dilemmas, consumer behaviour, and technology innovation challenges, must be overcome to create value for all stakeholders and deliver their sustainability strategy - Digital adoption is a journey that requires investment, time, and commitment to achieve.

𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸 𝟮 𝗼𝗳 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀: 𝙀𝙢𝙗𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙎𝙪𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙗𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙮 In Week 2 of my international experience at EADA Business School, the focus was on sustainability, led by the insightful Professor Melissa Demartini, PhD. The week offered a deep dive into essential topics such as Sustainable Supply Chain Management, Planetary Boundaries, Circular Economy, Business Canvas, and Reverse Logistics. Learning through real-world examples like Orange Fiber s.r.l., Wallapop, Nike etc. I gained a profound understanding of how businesses can align their goals with sustainability initiatives. These sessions were particularly illuminating, highlighting the critical role of innovation in creating a positive environmental impact. What stood out to me was the learning structure. Each day, after in-depth discussions, we engaged in presentations and case studies that allowed us to apply theoretical knowledge to practical scenarios. The way Professor Melissa used bullet points to summarize each case & topics was awe-inspiring. This specific approach of hers was meticulous, helping us break down complex ideas and embed key takeaways more effectively. In fact it wasn't just about learning concepts but truly grasping how sustainability can be integrated into the business ecosystem for long-term impact. #IIMShillong #PGPEx #InternationalImmersion #CampusInCloud #CampusInHeaven #CircularEconomy #Sustainability

🌍 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗭𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗖𝗶𝗿𝗰𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝗛𝘂𝗯𝘀 In a groundbreaking move, the University of Twente is redefining the future of our industrial landscapes through the innovative project ‘Sustainable Circular Economy Transition: from Industrial Symbiosis to Hubs for Circularity (IS2H4C EU Project)’. The consortium, consisting of 35 partners from various countries, will implement its innovative model in four key hubs across Europe: Hub Twente in the Netherlands, Basque Hub in the north of Spain, Höchst Industrial Park in Germany, and Izmir-Manisa Hub in Türkiye. Why does this matter? Industrial zones have long been associated with linear processes that prioritize short-term gains over long-term sustainability. By embracing circular economy principles, we can foster collaboration, innovation, and a more sustainable approach to business. This project not only promotes environmental responsibility but also drives economic growth, creating new opportunities for businesses and communities alike. We work together towards a world without waste and contribute to a strong, sustainable future for East Netherlands and Europe. 🌱💡 🔎 Curious about this project and how it contributes to the circular economy?
