#Aerospace in Région Pays de la Loire ? I get often the question ... but yes, even being less iconic and not spontaneously identified as Aerospace ecosystems as are the regions of Toulouse or Hamburg, a strong Aerospace industry exist in the region PDL, where industrial expertises are also fueled and cross-fertilised from other leading industries, such as the Naval Ship building, Marine Renewable Energy, etc. To fulfil the industry high-demanding expertise, numerous engineering schools and innovation hubs are completing this regional picture, while the region is also very attractive from quality of life and national / international connections point of views ... For those interested, please have a look at the attached infographic, rapidly made out of a great leaflet issued June 2023 by the regional trade agency, Solutions&co (ie most probably for the International Paris Air Show, last year) Btw, for english readers, I will seek if an English version exist ... The link is also indicated as 1rst comment Poke and thanks to Gonzague MANNESSIER, Sophie Riand and their colleagues ... Join GSA next week at the Farnborough International Air Show! Panel session: International Spaceport Readiness to Support Point-to-Point Transportation Tuesday, July 23rd in the Space Zone Theatre– Hall 4 Moderator: Dr. George Nield - Chairman, Global Spaceport Alliance Panelists: - Hidetaka Aoki - Co-Founder and Director, Space Port Japan Association - Giovanni Di Antonio, FRAeS, Director - Technological Innovation, Italian Civil Aviation Authority - ENAC - Ente Nazionale per l'Aviazione Civile - Stephen Camporeale – Country Director for UK and Europe, Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade) - Alex Tai – Chairman, New Frontier Aerospace - Khaki Rodway – Spaceplane Sales and Operations Director, Dawn Aerospace 👉 https://lnkd.in/eUpHCSvc Given the rapid progress taking place in the commercial space sector, the next few years will likely bring the development of dozens of operational #spaceports all over the world. These spaceports will have the potential to serve as focal points and technology hubs for #aerospace innovation, as well as to support increased access to space. At the same time, we are seeing the development of a new class of aerospace vehicles that can travel between any two points on Earth within a couple of hours. Although many different design concepts have been proposed, the ability to conduct high-speed, long-distance #transportation through space, initially for cargo, but eventually for people, will be a major game-changer, both for national security, and for economic competitiveness. This session will explore current prospects for such operations and discuss how they could be integrated with the emerging international spaceport network. #P2P #Pointtopoint #spaceeconomy #Spaceindustry #spacetransportation

Looking back at last week's Satellite positioning roundtable, organized by UNIFE | The European Rail Supply Industry Association within InnoTrans, please let me thank again my colleagues Jose Eugenio Bertolin Corisco, Massimiliano Ciaffi, Valentin Barreau and Léa Paties for summarizing the progress towards satellite-based train localization adoption in ERTMS - European Rail Traffic Management System. The contribution of #EUSPA funded projects THE CLUG PROJECT and RAILGAP was presented, including the link to the Europe's Rail Joint Undertaking Innovation Pillar, which is instrumental to facilitate #EUSpace uptake in Rail. At present, EUSPA - EU Agency for the Space Programme, Europe's Rail Joint Undertaking, European Union Agency for Railways, European Space Agency - ESA and multiple rail stakeholders continue to work intensively together on preparation of satellite-based localization demonstrators as next step towards improving the performance of fail-safe train positioning in #ERTMS. #Satellite4Rail #ERTMS #SBAS #GNSS #Innovation #Galileo #EGNOS #Rail #SatelliteNavigation #UNIFE #RFI #SNCF #EURail #EUSpace
