The funding round was co-led by World Fund and Porsche Ventures and included Bosch Ventures, DTCF | DeepTech & Climate Fonds, NRW.Global Business. This marks the largest funding ever raised by a European battery recycling company and the first co-investment from Porsche and Bosch in Germany. Founded in 2022, cylib emerged from research at RWTH Aachen University and is led by CEO Lilian Schwich, CTO Paul Sabarny, and COO Dr Gideon Schwich. The company plans to use the funds to industrialize its proprietary recycling technology at a secured industrial facility in Germany, catering to leading OEMs and battery manufacturers. cylib technology enables the recycling of every component in a lithium-ion battery, achieving over 90% efficiency while reducing environmental impact by 30% compared to competitors. The company aims to address the rising demand for battery recycling, driven by the growth of electric vehicles, and ensure the resilience of European battery supply chains. The funding will also support further hiring and the scaling of cylib’s operations, positioning it as a leading battery recycler in Europe. Thrilled to share my journey from the recent EuroTech Collidor 2024 where I had the privilege to collaborate with a talented team on an innovative challenge within the German construction industry. 🏗️🌍 🔍 The Challenge: We tackled the inefficiencies in transportation routes by optimizing the use of empty loads on construction site trucks. Our project, developed over three intense months with Mineral Minds, leveraged to network construction projects across Germany, significantly reducing unnecessary travel and emissions. By integrating AI and robust data analytics, our tool not only calculates potential CO2 savings but also makes these savings certifiable. 🌿 Impact: Our work not only cuts down unnecessary emissions but also improves operational efficiencies, paving the way for a greener construction industry. #EuroTechCollidor2024 #Sustainability #Innovation #MineralMinds

Phlair has just raised $14.5 million in seed funding to revolutionise the world of carbon capture! Backed by investors like Extantia Capital, Atlantic Labs, and Planet A Ventures, this funding will help Phlair scale its innovative Direct Air Capture (DAC) technology, which aims to significantly lower the cost of removing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. 🌳 Founded in 2022 by Malte Feucht, Paul Teufel, and Steffen Garbe, Phlair’s unique approach leverages a “pH swing” method, using acid to release CO2 instead of traditional, energy-intensive heat processes.
