26. Curtain Mistakes to Avoid in the Living Room 01 Too Narrow Rod: Using a Narrow rod to hang curtains can block light. To avoid this, ensure the curtain rod overhangs should be at least 3”-6” away from the window's end. Let the curtain drop till the skirting. 02 Avoid Flat Curtains: Closed curtains should not look flat. Their width should be 2 to 3 times that of the window for added volume. New project alert! Renovation of the USC Beaufort - Bluffton Library building's first floor will reorganize the program to create three overlapping zones: open/lounge collaboration, small groups/focused services, private study, and instructional maker space. Fixtures and finishes will help define a new continuum from public to private that extends from the building entry to the rear wall. Functional wall components will add acoustical absorption, “Experiential Gallery" presentation features, and privacy to select groupings. Acoustical fins will upgrade atrium volume with sculptural "shark fins" visible from the first and second levels. Existing ceiling fixtures will be replaced with new direct and indirect LED technology and decorative acoustical pendants above some collaboration zones. Repainting the walls in warm white with a blue accent will celebrate USC Beaufort's brand colors; new patterned carpet and entry tiles will incorporate this updated scheme. The new carpet scheme uses variable color concentration to communicate various levels of privacy: the change in color concentration subtly implies a change in noise levels. Architectural Archetypes by Invi Air Diffusers: Continuums. Invi Air’s continuous linear diffusers are perfect for hugging any winding architectural design whether with straight-cornered lines or curved ones. Invi Air’s custom-made curved linear diffuser on the ceiling follows the curve of the architectural design. Unlike any other air diffuser, Invi Air’s diffusers are entirely frameless and flush fit perfectly on the surface on which they’re installed. Matching the straight lines of a panoramic window, where the ceiling meets the walls and window frames, our frameless linear completes the overall design of this full-view living room. Installed completely behind the drywall, Invi Air’s diffusers blend in perfectly with the level of the surface, leaving only an elegant thin continuous slot. #Architecture #InteriorDesign

In architecture, MOLDING refers to decorative strips of material used to embellish or outline various architectural elements such as walls, ceilings, doors, and windows. Molding can be made of various materials such as wood, plaster, or synthetic materials, and it comes in a variety of shapes and styles, including crown molding, baseboard molding, and chair rail molding. Molding is used to add visual interest, depth, and elegance to interior and exterior spaces. Both spellings, "moulding" and "molding," are correct, and the usage depends on regional preferences. In British English, "moulding" is typically preferred, while in American English, "molding" is more commonly used. However, both terms refer to the same architectural decorative elements and can be used interchangeably in most contexts. #Architecture, #ArchitecturalDesign, #FloorPlan, #2DFloorPlan, #3DDesign, #3DModeling, #Molding, #CrownMolding, #InteriorDesign, #HomeDecor

What is a rendering? A rendering is a visual representation of a design or concept, typically used in architecture, interior design, and other related fields. Renderings can be created using various techniques, including hand-drawing or computer-generated imagery (CGI). They aim to depict what a finished project will look like, providing a realistic view of the space, materials, lighting, and textures. In the context of construction and design, renderings are often used to communicate ideas to clients, stakeholders, and contractors, allowing them to visualize the final outcome before the project is built.

Why should you choose Semi-Dry Pediments? Semi-dry pediments are a specific type of architectural element used to decorate and enhance the aesthetic of buildings, often found above entrances, windows, or as part of the facade. They typically feature detailed, decorative designs tailored to complement specific architectural styles and can serve as a transitional element between different parts of a building, creating a cohesive look. The production of semi-dry pediments focuses on achieving sharp, precise details and a smooth finish that enhances their decorative appeal.
