When I was searching for a new job, I made a list of criteria I was looking for in my future employer. (Full list below for accountability measures.) I promised myself that if I were to make a move, every criteria on this list had to be met - no compromises. I'm glad I held firm in this requirement because it led me to Valent Partners. Valent not only met these criteria but has quickly proven itself to be among the #BestPlacesToWork. To my friends actively job searching: make your list, be selective, don't settle, and be grateful for where it leads you. It may take some time, but it'll be worth it. - Who I work with and for: Am I surrounded by people that are driven, kind, and humble; people that inspire me and push me to be better? - The example leadership sets: Are leaders really 'walking the talk'; is there a culture of trust and accountability; is grace encouraged and extended? - A place to grow: Am I being pigeon-holed into one role, or is there room in the future for me to expand on my skills and the scope of work? - Room to think strategically: Do I have autonomy to experiment with new concepts or processes; can I turn my ideas into action, with minimal red tape? - Alignment of professional values with my personal values
Valent Partners is humbled and honored to have been named one of the 2024 #BestPlacesToWork by the Dallas Business Journal. We are grateful to receive public recognition that the culture that we’re building is meaningful across our colleague community. We look forward to continuing our journey to become an even better place to work in the years to come.

Amidst life's hustle and bustle, it's easy to lose sight of our true direction. That's why finding our North Star – that guiding beacon of values and purpose – is essential. By anchoring ourselves to it, we not only stay focused but also become better stewards of our influence. It's about staying true to our core principles, even when the winds of change blow strong. Let's remember to nurture and protect our guiding light, for it illuminates the path towards making a positive impact in our communities and beyond. #Stewardship #StayFocused #FindYourNorthStar

🌟 Cognac and Conversations: A Night of Purposeful Dialogue and Action 🌟 Last night was nothing short of inspiring. Our Cognac and Conversations event brought together a room filled with powerful voices and change-makers who are all passionate about making a tangible difference in education, talent development, and the workforce. It was a night of intentional conversations, where we delved deep into what we can do to identify and close some critical gaps. Two ideas that resonated with me were the importance of not getting caught in the vacuum and the need for increased awareness of available talent. So often, individuals feel boxed into certain career paths without knowing what else is out there or how their unique traits can lead to fulfilling work. This is where CultureLancer comes in. One of our core missions is to expand this awareness—helping individuals align their passions, skills, and traits with career possibilities they might not have considered. We don’t just want to open doors; we want to provide intentional access to opportunities that can truly transform lives. This event is the beginning of something bigger, as we plan to hold these gatherings quarterly, with our next one in March 2025. At the end of the night, each attendee made a personal commitment to drive change, and we’ll be following up to ensure those commitments stay on track. It’s about creating accountability, moving beyond just talk, and making real, measurable progress. A huge thank you to everyone who joined us last night. It was a privilege to share the evening with such impactful individuals, each of whom brought their own energy and insight to the table. Special thanks to: • Late August (located in the Ion Houston for hosting us in their beautiful space. • Danny, the owner, for being such a gracious host. • Pierre Ferrand for being our signature cognac of the night. • Tariq, our incredible mixologist, for crafting memorable drinks that elevated the entire experience. Good food, good drinks, and even better conversation. I can’t wait for the next one, and to see how these conversations turn into actions that truly make an impact. Let’s keep the momentum going. 🌍✨ #CognacAndConversations #CultureLancer #Education #TalentDevelopment #WorkforceInnovation #CommunityImpact #HoustonEvents #CareerPathways #PurposefulConnections Chastiny Brown, Alexia Jones, Tiara Abu - Making HERstory, Akeel Bernard CPC, ELI-MP, Adrianne Stone, Loretta Williams Gurnell Sable R. Beth Millar is next in our series of catching up with our People Team following their double win at The Caterer People Awards last week. Beth joined us two years ago and has been a key member of the People Team as well as bringing on board Elsa Waterfield who joined the Marketing Team nearly one year ago. Here is what Beth has to say... As we grow, how important is it to preserve the culture that makes Heartwood such a special place for our people? Preserving our culture is essential because it’s truly what makes Heartwood Collection a meaningful, inspiring place to work. Unlike many companies where values can feel like empty words, we always seek excellence, lead by example, and genuinely care - our values are played out every single day. Seeking excellence shows up in moments like our busiest service periods, when every team member pulls together to deliver the highest standards, no matter the pressure. When it comes to leading by example, I’ve seen managers working alongside their teams during challenging shifts, showing resilience and reinforcing the respect and care we have for one another. And genuinely caring is clear in the way we support one another through personal challenges, offering help, flexibility, and understanding in a way that makes Heartwood Collection feel like a second family. These are the everyday actions that make our culture truly special, and they’re what makes Heartwood Collection feel like so much more than just a workplace. #people #team #award #reward #hospitality #hospitalityindustry #culture #recruitment #culture

Happy #FACSfamFriday, everyone! Before you go out and celebrate Memorial Day, we have our next Employee Spotlight to unveil! Our very own Fred Vinciguerra is next to be in our spotlight! Fred is our CEO and works out of the Hayward office. Check out Fred's responses to our questions below, as well as a photo of him with his family out in nature. Do you have any questions for Fred or other FACS employees you'd like to see answered in the next #FACSfamFriday? Let us know by commenting on this post! What is one thing that you geek out about? It's sad, but I really don't geek out about much. Maybe the Chicago Bears, Cubs, and Blackhawks. I love my Chicago teams, but geeking out is probably a stretch. What is one way that you unwind? Either by getting my sweat on (exercising, even though it doesn't show) or fixing something. I'm not super handy, but I enjoy giving it a try and feel really good when it actually works after I tried. Is there anything you wished would come back into fashion? Perm's for guys - nevermind, I wouldn't be able to get one anyway. What celebrity would you like to meet at Starbucks for a cup of coffee? Howard Stern - please don't judge. I think he does an amazing job interviewing people and is not afraid to ask questions others shy away from. What is one of your favorite books? I really don't read fiction but I do enjoy a good business book. One of my favorites is Oren Harari, Break from the Pack. It's about how to compete in a copy cat society and Malcolm Gladwell's, Outliers and What the Dog Saw - lots of short, facsinating stories. Favorite quote? "A man with one watch knows the time. A man with two is never sure."

As a strategy-first communications and visibility firm, my clients and industry colleagues know I have not advised to post a 5min video in today's evolving social media universe. They also know that I advise to break rules when it's worth it. 😉 Please indulge me for a moment. I recently shared my induction into #TheBOWCollective, and have received amazing support and a few questions. While it is difficult for this communications exec to articulate (right?!) what it means for Quest Media Group to be part of a sisterhood of the top 1% Black women owned businesses, this recap of our recent induction ceremony and 3rd annual conference does the job for me, and certainly answers the great questions that have been flowing my way. About BOW Collective: ⁃ Focus: capital, contracts and community ⁃ Priority: support Black women business owners to scale, create more jobs, and continue community impact ⁃ Inducted over 70 new members in February 2024 ⁃ Total collective of 200+ ⁃ 4 countries ⁃ 30 industries ⁃ 1.2 billion dollars in revenue The Bottom Line: We are poised to take action and support your large organization with varied, scalable solutions. Feel free to reach out to me to see how The BOW Collective can help solve your greatest business challenges, while making your vendor and procurement search the easiest and fastest it has ever been. Thank you to our partners MassMutual, J.P. I tip my emerald green hat to our Founder Nic Cober, Esquire for executing on your vision that is shaping a stronger America.
