We are first human beings and then 'everything' else. War affects us as human beings. Some are affected more than other, much more ...as this IT guy or any other specialist who are in Ukraine - the country that is being bombed by Russian Army for 2 years. The same is true for other human beings who work in war zones and witness innocent people, children dying as the world watches and 'professionals' talk about what is appropriate to discuss on 'professional networks' . We can't separate a human being from a working being and any network, sport-focused, professional or social will be a reflection of it. We are better leaders when we bring our honest and authentic ourselves to all our places of being, including our workplaces and professional networks. #russiaterroriststate #standwithukraine #humanbeing #authenticleadership

This morning's Soldier of the Month Board showcased exceptional performance. Each Soldier who entered my board demonstrated excellent skills and dedication. While I have many items in my kitbag to incentivize high performance, e.g., aligning incentives with goals and fostering a supportive and collaborative climate, I always appreciate the power of offering recognition. Recognition is not just a formality. It's a powerful way to show how much I value and appreciate my team's achievements. It serves as a strong motivator, reinforcing their positive behaviors and attitudes, and it's crucial to continue this practice to motivate them to continue their outstanding work 👌. Whether it's public recognition, an award presentation, or a seemingly insignificant gesture that could be a significant life hack for an individual, like parking in the Command Sergeant Major's courtesy parking space 🚗 for 30 days, these small wins are not to be underestimated. They have the potential to significantly impact our organization's performance, reinforcing the idea that every effort, no matter how small, contributes to our success. So, what do you do in your organization to incentivize high performance outside of recognition 🤔?
Morning Northmen, If you see SPC Nolasco (A/92), please congratulate him on his remarkable achievement of being the Northmen's July Soldier of the Month. His victory in this hard-fought battle is a testament to his dedication and skill, and it should inspire us all. SPC Nolasco's victory not only earns him bragging rights for the next month, but also a significant recognition in the form of an Army Achievement Medal, which he will be formally awarded at August's Ragnarök. He will also enjoy the privilege of the CSM parking spot for the next month. #Northmen

The memes are fun. The banter is given and taken. It’s all just fun joking. But now, all the joking is done. The game will be played between the whistles and between the lines. When I wore that Army Football jersey waaaaaaay back when, I hated my opponents. But, at the end of the day, when that clock winds down to 00:00 and the game is done, the seniors from both sides will be closing in on the end of their college football careers and beginning to prepare for a period of service to their nation. Some will become Army Rangers. Some will become Navy Seals. Some will become Infantry. Some will become Aviators. Some will deploy overseas. Some will come home. Some will die. Some will die in the sand of a foreign country with nothing to their right and left but their brothers and a photo of their wife and kids in their breast pocket. The blood these guys today shed on a football field will perhaps one day be shed in the sand for you. For me. For us. Watch this game today, and keep the thought in the back of your mind that some of these players you see today on this field will absolutely make the ultimate sacrifice for our nation. You will absolutely see some of their names on memorial wristbands and tombstones and memorial pages. Zero doubts about it. Heroes. Every single one of them. Absolutely, unequivocally and without comparison, this is the greatest college football game and rivalry to have ever existed in all of sport. #GOARMY And #BEATnavy #x22628

🤓 Curious facts you didn't know you needed. Today we bring you some facts about chess that you might not have known: ✅ Chess has its origins in the game it describes: chaturanga, whose name means "four divisions" in reference to the four pieces symbolizing the units of the Indian army. These are the oldest pieces of the game and correspond to the current pawns (for infantry), knights (cavalry), bishops (elephants), and rooks (chariots) of the modern version of the game. ✅ Chess is just the most international member of a vast family of similar games, including Japanese shogi, Chinese xiangqi, or Thai makruk. ✅ For a game to be considered part of the "chess family", it must meet two requirements: that there are no factors of chance involved (for example, dice, as in some similar games) and that victory depends on the capture of a single piece, the king. Did you know these curious facts about chess?

Happy Birthday, US Army! Today, we celebrate the incredible legacy of an organization that has profoundly shaped my life and countless others. Reflecting on my time in the Army, I am filled with immense gratitude. It was here that I learned invaluable lessons that continue to guide me daily: How to Follow: Understanding the importance of teamwork, trust, and knowing when to step back, listen, and learn from others. How to Lead: Gaining the skills to inspire, motivate, and guide others toward common goals. How to Face My Fears: Confronting challenges head-on and finding the strength to overcome obstacles. How to Adapt and Overcome: Learning the importance of flexibility and resilience in the face of adversity. How to Serve: Embracing the value of selflessness and dedication to a cause greater than oneself. The Army taught me the power of discipline, the significance of camaraderie, and the essence of perseverance. These lessons have been pivotal not only in my career but also in my personal growth. To all my fellow soldiers, past and present, thank you for your service and dedication. Here’s to honoring our shared experiences and the unwavering spirit of the US Army. 🇺🇸 #USArmyBirthday #ProudVeteran #Leadership #Gratitude #Service
