Africa has the potential to leapfrog the impacts of climate change with its vast resources of under-developed green infrastructure. However, the potential of green bonds is not being realized quickly. To ensure sustainable finance, the environmental impact of green bond projects must be transparent, verifiable, measurable, and compliant with the best standards. Let's harness the power of sustainable finance to promote transparency and support the development of renewable energy, biodiversity, green building, county bonds, sovereign green bonds, and climate resilience in Africa. Together we can contribute to a greener future for Africa. #GreenBonds #SustainableFinance #Transparency #RenewableEnergy #Biodiversity #GreenBuilding #CountyBonds #SovereignGreenBond #ClimateResilience #AfricaRising #UseOfProceeds Protos Capital LLP

💥⚡️Financing Clean Energy Access for Adaptation and Resilience in Sub-Saharan Africa: A Crucial Endeavor for the Future As Sub-Saharan Africa grapples with the dual challenges of energy poverty and climate vulnerability, a groundbreaking initiative aims to turn the tide by addressing the critical need for financing clean energy. The “Six30 Campaign”, spearheaded by the African Coalition for Sustainable Energy Access (ACSEA) and the Pan-African Climate Justice Alliance (PACJA), targets raising $630 million by 2030 to provide electricity access to 630 million people across Sub-Saharan Africa. On the sidelines of the CCDA in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, this initiative was unveiled to address the pressing need to create a synergy between energy and adaptation on the African continent. This initiative is not just about energy; it is about unlocking the potential for socio-economic development and building resilience against the impacts of climate change. However, the road to achieving these ambitious goals is fraught with significant challenges, particularly in securing the necessary financing. Eugene N Nforngwa, the director of programs at ACSEA and the thematic lead for just transition at PACJA, asked the pertinent question, “Why is there not enough money to finance energy access on the continent?” This question brought into light various reasons for the lack of finance for energy access on the continent; read full article below👇👇 https://lnkd.in/d_PW9Dy5 All followers African Development Bank Group Pan African Climate Justice Alliance PACJA 𝗬𝗔𝗙 𝗔𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮 𝗜𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 Augustine B Njamnshi
