Air Products Benelux hosted The Hague Energized, an event dedicated to fostering discussions crucial for advancing collaborative efforts towards a sustainable energy future. Our CCS Project Manager, Crystal Dolphin, shared her views about the event and the role of hydrogen on the road to carbon zero. During the event, our Director of Tonnage Business Northern Continent, Paul Hoogeveen, and Business Development Manager Maritime, Rogier Blokdijk, presented how Air Products is accelerating the energy transition with our renewable and blue hydrogen production projects. The Hague Energized is organised by The Hague & Partners in collaboration with young professionals from The Hague's energy industry. Hydrogen can be a solution to integrate the energy sector and the infrastructures are key to the energy transition! 𝐂𝐨𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 is the new word for developing the #hydrogen economy, where competitors must also cooperate within the ecosystems to foster innovation and to really add value. This year's forum was organized by the AHK Finnland in cooperation with the IHK Düsseldorf. Between classic cars and innovations, the Finnish hydrogen economy impressively presented its concepts for an independent European energy supply. Finland is increasingly focusing on hydrogen: surplus renewable energy is converted into green hydrogen, which can be transported through Europe via pipelines without any loss of energy. For North Rhine-Westphalia particularly, the industrial heart of Europe, the development of a hydrogen infrastructure is essential to make its energy-intensive industry fit for the future. However, success hinges on policy frameworks that prioritise the security of supply and enable value stacking to future-proof Europe’s energy landscape.⚡ Malin Östman, VP of Strategy & Business Development from Wärtsilä Energy, spoke at the panel discussion, sharing valuable perspectives on how our solutions can future-proof Europe’s energy landscape. Wärtsilä balancing power plants are the perfect partners for renewables — always ready to step in when the grid needs them most.
