"🌸 Crystal clear art! Excited to share the latest cover design I created for Crystal Growth & Design, featuring the article: “Size Asymmetry in Multidomain Single Crystals and the Development of Curved Surfaces,” by Hadar Nasi and collaborators from the labs of Michal Lahav and Milko van der Boom. This unique research, published in a special issue celebrating Mike Ward's contributions to molecular crystal growth, unveils a fascinating new type of single crystal with a flower-like, multidomain morphology and six curved petals on each side. Despite this intricate structure, these crystals are truly single! 🌿 The study maps out how these petals form by indexing crystal planes at different growth stages and examining the orientation of petals relative to the solvent-crystal interfaces, revealing connections between size asymmetry and curved surfaces in molecular crystals.
