A word from GMBF founder and president, Maria Victoria (Chona) Lagoutte:
We did it! 🎉 After months of preparation, our foundation successfully held our first-ever event at Padre Burgos Elementary School in Pasay City! 📚✨ Thanks to our amazing sponsors and dedicated volunteers, we had a wonderful morning reading **Filipino Leveled Books®** to first graders. The joy on their faces as they engaged in an arts and crafts activity based on the stories was truly heartwarming. 💖 This event is part of our **BaSa** or **Bayanihan** campaign, aimed at raising awareness about our mission to create Filipino Leveled Books® that teach children how to read. “Bayanihan” embodies the spirit of community coming together to achieve a common goal. 🤝 A huge thank you to **Tiffany Colayco** for leading this initiative, and to the seven other volunteers who poured their time and energy into making this day unforgettable for the children and sponsors alike. 🙌 Special thanks to Padre Burgos Elementary School for all the advance preparation! And, of course, a heartfelt shoutout to all our sponsors from the Philippines, Canada, and the US for your generous support. 🌍❤️ Looking ahead, we’re excited to announce that in January 2025, we will print more Filipino Leveled Books® and donate them to additional public schools! 📖✏️ #ReadingIsFundamental #Bayanihan #CommunitySupport #FilipinoLeveledBooks #EducationForAll #ThankYou #LiteracyMatters
