Fundraiser’s Dinner Etiquette Tip #7: Drink Etiquette Navigating drink etiquette at a formal dinner can help you keep the focus on meaningful connections. Here are a few tips to keep in mind: 🍸 Sip, don’t gulp – Enjoy your drink slowly, so you’re not refilling too often. This helps keep your attention on the conversation and avoids overindulgence. 🍷 Hold wine glasses by the stem – This not only keeps your wine at the right temperature but also shows poise and respect for the setting. 🥂 Know your glassware – Wine and water glasses are typically arranged to the right of your plate: water glass closest to the plate, white wine glass next, and red wine glass furthest right. 🥤 Alternate with water – A good rule of thumb is to drink a glass of water for every glass of wine. It keeps you hydrated and ensures you’re pacing yourself. 🚰 Offer to fill others’ water glasses – If you’re filling your own glass, consider offering to fill those around you as well—it’s a thoughtful gesture that shows attention to the group. With these tips, you’ll not only enjoy your evening but leave a polished, professional impression. What other tips would you add? If sustainability is one of your brand’s core values, why not approach Black Friday differently this year? In 2011, Patagonia’s iconic “Don’t Buy This Jacket” campaign challenged consumer culture, highlighting the negative impact of hyper-consumerism on our planet. In 2016, they took it a step further by donating 100% of their Black Friday profits to global non-profit environmental organisations. Whatever your PR campaign, ensure your core message resonates and leaves a lasting impression. #NerdNarrative #PRCaseStudy #SustainableShopping #BlackFriday

Competition time: Who's brand name has the best story or meaning? 👀 One of the best bits of my job is meeting charities, individuals and businesses and learning about the great work they're doing. Sometimes we get to dive deeper into the history, values and purpose of the organisation and that's a lot of fun. On Monday I was involved in a naming workshop and few things are as significant for an organisation as choosing a name! Generally, brand names fall into on of these categories (I'll include some examples): Real words: Descriptive - Let's Talk About Loss, Bristol Sport Foundation Real word(s): Abstract - Mind, Open Doors UK & Ireland Constructed or combined words - Tearfund, inHope (Bristol) Limited Invented words - Oxfam, Voscur Misspelled or other language - Bara Studio ( 😘 ) Acronyms - WWF, RNLI A brand name should change as often as your logo which, hopefully, is not very often! (Maybe 1 or 2 times in a the lifetime of an organisation - and only when it's totally necessary.) So the question is - how do you feel about your name? I'd love to know if your organisation has a name with a cool meaning or story, share it below! Happy Friday. #Charity #Branding #Strategy

🌿 Ever wondered what happens to leftover festival items? Our sustainability consultant Victoria G. shares how A Greener Future ensures unused supplies, like tarps and catering items, find a new purpose. From helping food banks to supporting local schools, such as Manorfield Primary in Tower Hamlets, these items are put to great use. 🔍 One example? Tarps from Uber One Presents All Points East are now helping kids with outdoor activities and gardening! Discover more about how festivals can leave a positive legacy in our latest article for A Good Thing 🌱 #UberOnePresentsAllPointsEast , AEG Presents UK, LS Events #Sustainability #FestivalWaste #AGreenerFuture
🥶 ❄️ Brrrr, it's certainly cold out there today! Here's a story to keep you warm and remind us of those long summer days... 💛 How festivals can help good causes. 🌞 🕺 😎 With festival season now officially over for the year, it’s as important as ever to make sure the breakdown of these massive gatherings happens as sustainably as possible. The not-for-profit A Greener Future (AGF) is a company that assesses live events and helps make them more sustainable and eco-friendly across their operations. Victoria G., one of AGF’s sustainability consultants, told us that they utilise every avenue available to find each redundant item a good home; this ranges from putting useful products outside the venues for the public to take to donating leftover catering items to food banks. Something she has found useful for their mission, however, is A Good Thing. 📗 With the massive amounts of items that need rehoming, A Good Thing has become a part of Victoria’s process. Keep reading: https://bit.ly/3YXEZt9 Thank you to our brilliant volunteer, Alisha Hampton, for reporting on this match! #festival #festivalseason #reducewaste #sendlesstolandfill #reducewaste #sharingeconomy #circulareconomy #charitydonation #smallcharity

I’m thrilled to announce the launch of a new website for Charity Footprints Baby Loss Twin & Triplet Support. I've had the privilege of working with Footprints since their launch earlier this year. This charity means so much to me, and I’m incredibly proud to be a part of it. From the start, I identified a need for a more professional and user-friendly website to better serve their mission. While the founders did an amazing job building their initial site, we aimed to enhance its professionalism and user experience. The goals were clear: 1️⃣ Quick access to support: Ensure that anyone seeking help can easily find the information they need such as personal stories and support groups. 2️⃣ Attract corporate sponsorship and donations: Create a compelling platform to encourage contributions, which are vital for providing support. 3️⃣ Professional and optimised: Make sure the site looks polished, is educational, and performs well in search engines. With web agency Sussex Marketing Strategies Limited we focused on fully optimising the site and using relevant keywords to ensure it means Google standards and can be found easily. The result? A website that not only looks great but also performs effectively, helping Footprints reach and support those in need. I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved and grateful to contribute to such a meaningful cause. Check out the new site and see how it can make a difference. 👉 https://lnkd.in/eEmrESjE #WebsiteLaunch #Charity #SEO #WebDesign #DigitalMarketing
