Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan discussed issues related to resuming direct air travel between the two countries. The Embassy of Kazakhstan in Turkmenistan reported that the matter was discussed during a meeting between Kazakhstan's Ambassador to Turkmenistan Nurlan Nogayev and the Chairman of Turkmenhowayollary, Dowran Saburov, on Friday. The ambassador emphasized that restoring direct flights is significant for the convenience of citizens from both countries and for strengthening economic and tourism ties. He also noted that resuming flights would attract Kazakh tourists to Turkmenistan and open new opportunities for developing tourism infrastructure and cultural exchange. Dowran Saburov expressed readiness for close cooperation and highlighted the importance of sharing experiences in civil aviation. The #Afghan caretaker government’s National Statistics and Information Authority announced on Sunday that airports and border ports had processed around 4,000 inbound and outbound trips of foreign nationals in #Afghanistan in the past month. Among them, 2,231, including 63 women, made inbound trips, while 1,809, including 11 women, made outbound trips. Tourism and work activities were the main travel purposes for these foreign nationals in Afghanistan, the authority posted on its social media platform account X. Uzbekistan Airways will commence direct #flights between #Tashkent and #Lahore, Pakistan, starting November 15, 2024. This new route aims to enhance connectivity between the two nations and facilitate travel for both business and tourism. Reportedly, negotiations for additional flight routes between cities in Uzbekistan and Pakistan are currently underway. The new direct flights are a result of efforts by the government of Uzbekistan to simplify the visa application process for Pakistani nationals.
