Today on my counter, I have got Hennessy VS Cognac. Hennessy V.S (Very Special) Cognac is one of the most popular and widely recognized brands of cognac in the world. Here are some key facts: 1. Origins and History : Hennessy was founded in 1765 by Irishman Richard Hennessy in the Cognac region of France. The V.S designation means "Very Special" and indicates that the youngest eau-de-vie in the blend is at least two years old. 2. Production Process : Hennessy V.S is made from a blend of around 40 different eaux-de-vie (distilled wines) that are aged for at least two years in French oak barrels. The oak imparts flavors and color to the cognac. 3. Flavor Profile: Hennessy V.S is known for its rich, robust flavors with notes of oak, vanilla, and toasted almond. It often has hints of fruit, such as apples or citrus, and spices like cinnamon and clove. 4. Usage : This cognac is versatile and can be enjoyed neat, on the rocks, or as a key ingredient in cocktails like the Sidecar, French 75, or a classic Cognac and Coke. 5. Popularity : Hennessy V.S is one of the most popular cognacs globally, particularly in the United States. It has a strong cultural presence and is often referenced in music, movies, and pop culture. 6. Brand Reputation: Hennessy is part of the LVMH (Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton) group, a leading luxury goods conglomerate. It is renowned for its quality and heritage, maintaining high standards in its production methods. 7. Marketing and Partnerships : Hennessy has engaged in various marketing campaigns and partnerships, often collaborating with artists and musicians to enhance its brand appeal and cultural relevance. These elements contribute to Hennessy V.S's status as a premium and well-loved cognac. #bartenderlife #cognac #bartender #openforwork #hireme

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder... 😉 Recently A good friend of mine raised an exiting question about Champagne, which gave some food for thought. What is perceived to be the top 5 Champagnes worldwide? It is a difficult question and I believe, after contemplating, there is no right or wrong answer. It lies in a number of things, namely price, exclusivity or critic’s choices... However you could also go with a different approach. If to choose on what is exclusive and therefore expensive, some marketing comes into play. A great example is ‘Ace of Spades’! Jay-Z officially purchased Armand de Brignac in November 2014. Since the celebrity’s acquisition, the popularity of the brand has skyrocketed! The bottles do have the bling factor, however the quality of the champagne itself is under constant scrutiny. If size does matter its 30 liter Midas secured its place on the market as the one and only! The famous champagne houses have more funds to market their sparkly elixir, and thus are often perceived as ‘better’ champagnes. For me, consistency and complexity is key in tasting champagne. Since the drink itself means celebration, I would like to taste similarities in my new milestone’s and remember the old whenever we pop a bottle. I close my eyes, take the first sip.. and memories flow.. My personal top 5 is this: 1. Krug Clos du Mesnil 2000 or Krug in general 2. Ruinart ‘Blancs des Blancs’ 3. Bollinger La Grande Année 2007 4. Billecart-Salmon Rosé 5. Dom Perignon 1998 On my bucket list I have untried treasures: 1. Salon Champagne 1947 2. Salon Cuvée ‘S’ Le Mesnil Blanc de Blancs 2002 What is your Top 5 of Champagnes? 🥂 As John Maynard Keynes said: “My only regret in life is that I didn’t drink enough Champagne.” 🍾 #Champagne #Maynard #BlancdeBlancs #Krug #BollingerLaGrandeAnnée2007 #SalonChampagne1947 #Jay-Z #BestChampagne #love #passion #wine #winery #wineyard

Armagnac and Cognac: A Tale of Two Brandy Titans A Sip of History: Understanding Cognac and Armagnac When it comes to fine brandies, few names evoke as much respect and admiration as Armagnac and Cognac. Both hailing from the storied region of southwestern France, these spirits are revered worldwide for their rich history, complex flavors, and meticulous production methods. This blog explores the origins, histories, regions, and grape varieties that define these two quintessential French brandies. The Origins and History of Armagnac Armagnac is considered the oldest brandy in France, with its roots tracing back to the 14th century. The first recorded mention of Armagnac dates to 1310 in a text by Vital Dufour, a cardinal who extolled its medicinal virtues. It originates from the Gascony region in the heart of the Gers, Landes, and Lot-et-Garonne departments. Historically, Armagnac has enjoyed a more local and artisanal production compared to its counterpart, Cognac. This allowed it to develop a distinct identity characterized by its robust and earthy flavor profile. Over centuries, the production techniques have been honed, maintaining the traditional methods of distillation and aging, often in black oak barrels that contribute to its unique taste. The Origins and History of Cognac Cognac, on the other hand, has its roots in the 17th century. The region's development as a hub for brandy production was largely due to its strategic location along the Charente River, facilitating trade. Initially, Cognac was produced as a way to preserve wine for long sea voyages, which eventually led to the discovery that double distillation produced a superior spirit. Cognac quickly gained popularity throughout Europe, becoming a favorite among the aristocracy and burgeoning middle class. By the 19th century, it was a well-established global brand. Cognac producers embraced innovation and marketing, which helped elevate its status and ensure its worldwide acclaim. Regions of Production Armagnac is produced in the Gascony region, divided into three main areas: Bas-Armagnac: Known for producing the finest and most delicate Armagnacs, characterized by a fruity and complex profile. Ténarèze: Offers a more robust and aromatic spirit, with a rich and fuller body. Haut-Armagnac: The least prolific of the three regions, often producing lighter and more floral Armagnacs. Cognac comes from the Charente and Charente-Maritime departments, divided into six crus (growing areas) Grande Champagne: Produces the finest Cognacs, known for their exceptional aging potential and floral elegance. Petite Champagne: Similar to Grande Champagne but slightly less refined, still offering excellent quality. Borderies: The smallest cru, known for producing smooth and nutty Cognacs with violet notes. Fins Bois: Produces round and fruity Cognacs that age relatively quickly. Bons Bois: Known for producing more rustic and robust Cognacs. Bois Ordinaire: Produces the most...

[5 𝙈𝙔𝙏𝙃𝙎 𝙔𝙊𝙐 𝙉𝙀𝙀𝘿 𝙏𝙊 𝙎𝙏𝙊𝙋 𝘽𝙀𝙇𝙄𝙀𝙑𝙄𝙉𝙂 𝘼𝘽𝙊𝙐𝙏 𝙒𝙄𝙉𝙀 (A SERIES) 𝐌𝐘𝐓𝐇 #: 1 𝐇𝐈𝐆𝐇 𝐏𝐑𝐈𝐂𝐄 𝐄𝐐𝐔𝐀𝐋𝐒 𝐇𝐈𝐆𝐇 𝐐𝐔𝐀𝐋𝐈𝐓𝐘 Wine is a luxury commodity (well, essential to me), but like all other commodities, it falls prey to the assumption that high price equals high quality. Price isn’t the ONLY indicator of quality, rather, a side effect of supply/demand, marketing, regional costs, aging practices, and other production factors. Similarly, like high-end handbag manufacturers, what moves their market is a level of perceived exclusivity. Just because it costs more doesn’t automatically qualify it to be of higher quality. This, in my opinion, is the exception, not the rule. There have been some exceptional wines at equally exceptional price points I’ve enjoyed that have justified the price, but the overarching point is that high-quality wines can be made at every price point. So don’t scoff at that $25 bottle of wine, just as much great care and passion went into crafting that bottle for your enjoyment. . . #LasVegasWineTours #HireASommelier #LuxuryEvents #EventPlanning #LasVegasEvents #Sommelier #BartenderForHire #Mixology #PrivateEvents #CorporateEvents #WineLovers #VIPService #LasVegasCatering #HolidayParties #PrivateParties #Festivals #PrivateWineTastings #WineMakerDinner #BachelorParties #BacheloretteParties #DateNight #WineConsulting #LuxuryHospitality #LadiesNightOut]

Champagne sales are down 12% this quarter 📉 And here's why... There's obviously a tonne of reasons this could be: cost of living, people drinking less, new entrants to the sparkling category getting more traction. But I'm also sure there's a brand element to it. For ages I used to think Champagne was the only wine category that really had brand nailed. Investing in it YoY and trading on image, when others seemed to think it wasn't necessary. It's true, they seem to understand the importance of it more than most, but now think their take on it all is outdated. For the most part Champagne trades on an old and stuffy image of luxury - fine dining, dinner jackets, tickets to the Opera, perfectly curated photography, and cliché classical music. Not only does that increasingly feel irrelevant to a new generation, it's also less relevant within the luxury brand space too. Just look at what top luxury fashion brands are doing - Chanel in Manchester for example - and you can see how even £££ products can be stay culturally on-trend, relatable and relevant. All without cheapening the brand. I think Champagne houses should take a lesson or two, and maybe they'd be able to stymie a bit of the downturn in sales. What do you think? 🤷🏼♂️ Link in comments. ----- For anyone interested, we're currently working on this exact issue for a English sparkling wine brand hoping to position them very differently in the premium sparkling wine category. Watch this sapce. #wine #drinksindustry #luxury #brand

Names–I–Wish–I'd–Thought-Of: FRENCH BLOOM, is a non-alcoholic brand of 'champagne' which launched three years ago and is on track to sell 500,000 bottles this year. Now, luxury giant LVMH is buying a stake in French Bloom betting that it can convince more consumers to pay upward of $100 a bottle minus the booze. The deal for roughly 30% of non-alcoholic 'champagne' maker comes amid a surge in popularity for low- and no-alcohol drinks, and as LVMH’s Moët Hennessy division contends with sluggish demand for Champagne and spirits. French Bloom, which sells a wide variety of sparkling wines, includes sparkling white and sparkling rose. Its latest addition, La Cuvée Vintage, which launched in 2022, is a nonalcoholic fizz, that’s sold at $109 a bottle. #branding #naming

Another sensational arrival at "Italian wine collector" Just arrived a DOM PERIGNON 1964!!! Dom Perignon Champagne is probably the best-known bubble in the world, named after the Benedictine monk intimately linked to the origins of Champagne itself. It was marketed in 1936 by Robert-Jean de Vogue with the idea of creating a luxury Champagne and, to do so, he enclosed the family Moet 1921 Reserve in the historic bottle. The first "real" Dom Perignon harvest will arrive in 1947. Today this historic Champagne is produced only with its own Grand Cru grapes and, to boast the label, must guarantee an aging potential of at least 30 years. From the olfactory approach, Dom Perignon is intense, with the typical minerality of the maison in the foreground accompanied by smoky nuances. The notes of the Chardonnay also slowly reveal themselves, pleasantly buttery: in short, it is immediately defined as a great Champagne, capable of enhancing the typicality of the label. Conceptually, Dom Pérignon only exists as a vintage. Dom Pérignon Vintage champagne is born from an extremely rigorous selection of the best terroirs of Champagne. Depending on the quality of the vintage, Dom Pérignon chooses to declare the vintage or not. In line with its ideals, Dom Pérignon Vintage champagne reveals itself after more than 8 years of processing and rest in the cellar. Dom Perignon Champagne is always very balanced between the finesse of the bubble, the roundness of the body and the richness of the taste, always noble and never over the top. A historically high-level Champagne, which never ceases to amaze despite the passing of the harvests. For any information or price list contact me privately
