The session posed critical questions: What happens when innovation is used for the destruction of entire populations? How is Gaza being used as a testing ground for new weapons and systems by the West to maintain colonial dominance? How much of Western power and growth is tied to its armament industry? It was an honour to participate in the 2024 World International Studies Committee conference (24th-26th of July 2024) held at the University of Warsaw and present on Iran-Saudi Arabia relations. The research is based on the question of whether these states can become the pillars of Middle Eastern security and establish new security framework in light of restoration of ties in March 2023. #wisc

Future Europe (FEU) is an open-access, peer-reviewed journal published which aims to contribute to bridging the gap between academic research and policymaking. https://lnkd.in/eGAEEryA

I'm published in the United Nations' Commemorative Publication "Of Service", which also contains many incredible articles from the UN's peacekeeping operations globally, delivering first hand accounts of the work done in the past year and assessments of the challenges that lie ahead. I was invited to contribute an article about emerging technology that could play a role in the future of peacekeeping. From the introduction: "While the only certainty about the future of peace operations may be uncertainty, the UN will need to build resilience to face new threats and unpredictable conditions, exacerbated by climate change and population growth. At the same time, the pace of technological change will continue at an exponential rate. It will be important to harness its capabilities to achieve operational success. Advances in miniaturization, materials, and wireless communications can strengthen the United Nations’ ability to deliver security to troops on the ground and protect local populations."
