Hi LinkedIn Network, I've recently joined a wonderful, local charity called The Garwood Foundation as a Trustee. 🏊♀️ In the run-up to launching an appeal - they need a new hydrotherapy pool - I'd love to hear from anyone who has set up an appeal before to help me better understand any tried and tested structures and formulas. 🆘 I'll be setting up an appeal committee and I'd like to hear from anyone who has any suggestions that can help me and the charity to succeed in their appeal. For example, how did you plan? Where did you start? What did you include? How did you prioritise? What were your main learnings post-appeal? What was your winning formula? All and any ideas and suggestions welcome!! TIA 🙏 #charity #charityappeal #charityadvice #trustee

Helen Christopher FCA has summed it up brilliantly here, forming your network is invaluable in business. This meeting of minds saw a variety of businesses coming together to help eat Helen out of house & home. So much experience in the room & a huge learning opportunity. Business owners becoming friends. Women supporting women. As it should be. #networking #womeninbusiness #womensupportingwomen

It isn't just the books I can cook. One of the biggest benefits of starting a business and spending time networking has been the support network and new friends I have made a along the way. So last night was out inaugural supper club meeting, where I got to indulge in my love of entertaining and satisfied the inner feeder in me! We also donated the excess funds, after food costs to a local charity. It was such a fun evening spending time with this lovely lot who have each supported me in their own unique way. Debbie Bulteel Sally Mundy Paula Hudson Michelle Thomas and Claire Moncrieffe We were missing a couple of faces, but hopefully they will be with us next time. Who is in your support network? Let's shout them out this Friday morning. #network #support #charity

Do help if you can
Hello everyone!! 👋 Today is the final day of our charity for me&dee charity. One month after the London marathon. We have raised £4478 and got 89% of our target. 💪 In one last ditch attempt to reach our goal I wanted to post a picture of Baasit and I when we were kids, hoping that this shameless act of sentimentality would encourage a few final donations. 🙏 However, this is the only old photo I could find of us both. And no, it wasn’t taken from the Derbyshire Constabulary database. As much as I hope this picture has the desired outcome, I feel that it may result in us having to return some of the donations. 😃 Anyways…. From the bottom of our hearts, a massive thank you to everyone who donated, to everyone who shared the donation page and to everyone who sent us a message of encouragement. 🥰 We love you lots. Baasit & Raza ❤️❤️❤️ (the link will be live a for a few more days if you’d care to share or donate) https://lnkd.in/dp3khxBK

For those of you who followed along my first [behavioural] Comrades journey which I promised I would never do again ... Well, we're back! This time it's a down run and this time I'm running for a reason: SANParks Honorary Rangers 🦁🧡 Check it out here: bit.ly/MyComradesCause See if you can spot these behavioural charity nudges: 1. A very specific donation target – known as a nudgey number – which is more transparent and trustworthy. All proceeds go to my Comrades cause. 2. Storytelling elements which are far more engaging than facts and figures. You now all know my top holiday destination. 3. Some rhyme-as-reason effect; when something rhymes it's more believable and memorable. No donation amount is too small.

Last month during the B Corp Month campaign, our Health, Wellness, and Happiness team arranged a B Corp Month Bingo. Being a B Corp is not only about business but also about our people and the small things in our daily lives. The mission was simple: everyone takes up one task, and we complete the bingo as a team. Of course, it is encouraged to try all of them. With every bingo line achieved, we will donate 25 euros to a charity we choose. (Spoiler alert: we donated 300 euros to the World Food Program) Look how colorful it turned out! 🎨 Note to self: Don’t make it too simple, no matter how much you want your company to donate to a charitable cause.

Thank goodness for Motion Array. I use their Adobe Premiere and After Effects motion graphics templates for almost all of the corporate videos I create at Spread the Word Nevada. Here's a highlights video (featuring a decked-out Christmas-themed photo slideshow) of our participation in The Giving Machine during the 2023 holiday season. #Adobe #PremierePro #AfterEffects #MotionGraphics #VideoMarketing
❄️ WE ARE HALFWAY TO THE HOLIDAYS!🎄 Enjoy this highlights reel on STWN's experience with The Giving Machine this past holiday season. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints-sponsored Giving Machines returned to Las Vegas this past 2023 holiday season with a new and exciting second location added at The District at Green Valley Ranch as well as the Downtown Summerlin location from years past. The donation “vending machines” ran from November 15th to January 1, 2023, as part of the “Light the World” campaign. Spread the Word Nevada was honored and thrilled to be included in The District at Green Valley Ranch's machines. As in years past, the Giving Machines offered individuals a way to help serve members of our own community with local charity partners as well as global charities. Giving Machines are big red vending machines placed in local malls and plazas that contain cards listing items needed by local and international charities. Instead of buying something for yourself, you purchase something for someone in need. The items available for purchase include warm clothing, meals, sports equipment, hygiene items, school kits and more. 100% of the funds donated go directly to the charity of your choice.

I am delighted to share that CooperVision and CooperVoice – Employee Forum have completed a two-year partnership and fundraising effort for Southampton Hospitals Charity – Southampton Children Hospital. With ALL our colleagues' generous support from Delta Park, MountPark, and Brunel Way, we raised an impressive £30,000 throughout many the series of events. The team's dedication to making a difference in the lives of children and their families was recently celebrated in a discreet manner. Representatives from CooperVoice and the Distribution & Packaging Senior Managers Andrew Hinton and Gary Lonsdale presented the cheque to Beth Head of Charity Operations. This success is a testament to the power of collective action to create positive change and inspire others to join in the spirit of giving. I am proud to be a part of this community of caring individuals who strive to make a difference in the world. Thank you all for the support and let's continue to work together towards achieving a positive outcome in our communities. #CooperVision #CooperVoice #OneCooper #SouthamptonHospitalsCharity #Fundraising #PositiveChange #Community #MakingADifference #SouthamptonChildrensHospital
A huge THANK YOU to our fantastic Charity of the Year partners CooperVision (Delta Park) - for their incredible support throughout 2022 and 2023. Together they raised an astonishing £30,000 for Southampton Children’s Hospital by organising a range of office events including cakes sales, raffles, activity weeks full of games and friendly competition! We've loved working with you all. Thank you so much for your support! #southamptonhospitalscharity #coopervision #charityoftheyear

How'd I do? My answer: Great question! I would suggest a handful of these strategies. My friend Mike from Scranton told me about this. First, plan for a big birthday party celebration that very day. It doesn't matter if it's not anyone's birthday...just choose the person who is coming up next, even if it's a month away. Next, really focus on what you want to say in the birthday card. It should be the BEST comment on the card. Nothing mushy - just a straight zinger that gets everyone laughing. Also, make sure you put up a big donation to one of your staff's chosen charities. Something that even you think you can't afford. And most importantly, make sure everyone knows it. If you follow through with the above tactics - you will certainly have success! Like

How do you make a segment of your supporters feel special? With several of our charity clients recently, we’ve been seeing the benefits of starting up a ‘new thing’ for supporters to belong to. If you want to increase people’s investment in your cause, enrolling them in a special club or community is a no-brainer. This works particularly well for regular givers. 🌟 Give them a name (For instance, CAP calls them ‘Life Changers’). 🌟 Send them something exclusive - regularly. Perhaps in return for their monthly donation, they receive a monthly impact story that you don’t share with those outside the club? 🌟 Why not also phone one regular giver for a quick chat once a week to show your interest in them? And keep sending those hand-written Christmas cards too. 🌟 Could you put on a meet-up or special event just for them? This is more than just retention, it’s inviting them into the inner circle and increasing their knowledge of and enthusiasm for what you do. What do you think? Do you do something like this for your supporters?
