The need to constantly invest time and resource in better understanding customers, and using this to deliver more effective communications and marketing campaigns that can have a meaningful impact on business objectives, was a recurring theme through the inaugural Financial Promoter Live event organised by Rhotic Media last month. This was, of course, music to my ears as the idea that communications goals should be linked to commercial goals is something I’ve always believed in very strongly, and certainly makes for the best agency-client relationships. What also came through loud and clear from the event is that it isn’t aways easy to get senior leaders to understand where marketing fits into the overall organisational strategy, and the contribution it makes, but being able to ‘speak the same language’ can make a huge difference here. This is a challenge that still comes up time and time again, but one that it seems we are making some headway on! #FinancialMarketing #FinancialCommunications #FPLive
