The suspension control arm is one of three real-case demonstrators developed by LEVIS, alongside a battery box set and a cross car beam. Developing a circular business model for the frontrunning key exploitable result of RECREATE On March 12th, 2024, RECREATE partners met at EDAG’s premises in Munich, Germany, for an exploitation workshop that aimed to propel forward the frontrunning key exploitable result (KER) of RECREATE. The KER deals with advancing solutions based on several technologies tackling sustainable composite materials with enhanced functionalities, poised to increase circularity in the automotive industry and in the mobility sector overall. The main goal of the workshop was to design an innovative circular business model according to which for these new sustainable-by-design composite materials, could be applied in various industrial contexts. Participants used the Lean Canvas methodology, and meticulously outlined the primary components essential for the success of the envisioned joint venture. In the upcoming phases, the partners involved will embark on preparing a comprehensive business plan, charting out a roadmap for execution, and meticulously evaluating potential exploitation methods. 🌟 We are proud to announce the successful wrap-up of the Greenvehicles LEVIS project at our final review meeting in Brussels! 🌟 It was an honour to have Salima Abu Jeriban, our Project Officer from the European Commission, join us as we wrapped up this remarkable journey towards sustainable electric vehicle innovation. Through three real-case demonstrators - a suspension arm, a battery box set, and a cross car beam - Greenvehicles LEVIS showcased the incredible potential of sustainable lightweight EV components. Earlier this month, Ricardo del Valle Zermeño, Senior Advanced Materials Consultant, journeyed to Paris for JEC World 2024 - the leading event in #compositematerials - to moderate a panel discussion on #circularity in the automotive industry. Organised by the ELCA European Lightweight Cluster Alliance, the panel discussion featured industry experts from the ZEvRA EU Project which included Fraunhofer IWU, EDAG Group, FORVIA, EURECAT and Northumbria University, who gathered to explore the future of #automotive innovation. Amidst the accelerating transition towards electromobility, with projections indicating that EVs could encompass up to 75% of new car registrations in Europe by 2030, the dialogue centred on pivotal challenges and transformative solutions to shape the industry's trajectory. Key highlights: ♻️ Circularity challenges: The panel explored the intricacies of improving circularity within the EV manufacturing process. Addressing the current 80% higher CO2e emissions compared to internal combustion cars, experts explored strategies spanning the entire value chain to minimise environmental impact. 🫱🏻🫲🏾 Industry collaboration: Panellists stressed the need for collaboration throughout the entire value chain within the European automotive industry. Insights were shared on how partnerships, knowledge exchange, and collaborative endeavours can accelerate progress in circularity and lightweight performance simultaneously. 🪶Advancements in lightweighting: While addressing circularity challenges, the forum showcased trends and innovations in lightweighting strategies. From materials to design and manufacturing techniques, the experts explored how advancements are vital in achieving the dual goals of environmental responsibility and superior vehicle performance.
