🌟 We are proud to announce the successful wrap-up of the Greenvehicles LEVIS project at our final review meeting in Brussels! 🌟 It was an honour to have Salima Abu Jeriban, our Project Officer from the European Commission, join us as we wrapped up this remarkable journey towards sustainable electric vehicle innovation. Through three real-case demonstrators - a suspension arm, a battery box set, and a cross car beam - Greenvehicles LEVIS showcased the incredible potential of sustainable lightweight EV components. The project has delivered impressive results: ▪ 32% average weight reduction compared to conventional vehicle components ▪ Significant cost savings ▪ Recycling rates up to 85% for multi-material components ▪ A 23% reduction in global warming potential at the component level ▪ Potential replication in over 60% of vehicle chassis and body components We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all the Greenvehicles LEVIS partners for their dedication and excellent collaboration. Let me introduce you today to Christoph Schneeberger and his great team, whom I met during our #Composites360OnTour Vlogging at the recent JEC World 2024 (JEC Group). This spin-off from ETH Zürich had an idea that has in our view the potential of being a true disruptor. Rather than coating textile UD- or woven fabrics, NCFs and the like only, they coat single fibres. The main benefit is safer and more homogeneous coating along the endless single glass-fibres. Particularly, thermoplastics can be a bit of a challenge in conventional applications. There is now the Antefil Composite Tech solution. Exciting Highlights from IFAT 2024 in Munich! We had the opportunity to attend #IFAT2024 and are thrilled to share some key takeaways from this year's event. This exhibition showcases groundbreaking innovations in sustainable waste and recycling management, among others, with a focus on optical sorting technologies. 👕 Textile Recycling: As the EU prepares to introduce new regulations for the collection, sorting, reuse and recycling of used clothing, textile recycling has never been more relevant. The progress in the field of optical sorting with hyperspectral cameras is particularly promising for this development. ♻️ Plastic Flake Sorting: The application of hyperspectral cameras in plastic flake sorting was another topic. Especially the cameras’ resolution is paramount in sorting applications and one of the most important factors to achieve accurate and precise results.
