There was no way we could let this year’s theme for the Great Big Green Week pass without giving it a massive shout-out 🙌 People across the UK are being encouraged to swap things, whether that’s ditching plastic for paper packaging, or switching from single-use carrier bags to reusable totes. Every ‘swap’ aims to improve communities and protect the planet 🌍 Our recent partnership with A Good Thing (UK) runs along similar lines. 💛Matchmade! Sometimes, the smallest items can make the biggest difference! A generous trove of thousands of lanyards and ID badges donated by WCM&A Ltd – sustainable British manufacturer and proud A Good Thing champion – are helping the Red Kite Rape & Sexual Abuse Support Service and Safe Places Shropshire to cut costs, raise money and reach thousands of people in need. Jules Adam, Director at WCMA, met A Good Thing at the British Promotional Merchandise Association Sustainability Conference back in June 2023, she came away with an inspiring thought: ‘Knowing that there's always room for more achievements and that our contributions can create a tangible impact, encouraged me to get involved with A Good Thing. The platform offered a unique opportunity to make a difference on a larger scale by donating redundant stock items that others could use.’ As well as providing financial assistance, vital donations of ‘things’ like these help both charities (and many more like them) to establish a community presence, increase local awareness and reach thousands of people in need. Thanks to the generosity of WCM&A Ltd, thousands of these items reached charities across the UK.
