Hadean Energy’s Post

The Hadean team recently celebrated the successful commissioning and operation of our tubular SOE system at CSIRO’s Hydrogen Technology Demonstration Facility in Clayton. The world consumes 90 million tonnes of hydrogen each year, with almost all of this being derived from fossil fuels. This successful demonstration is the critical next step in Hadean’s pathway to producing lower cost green hydrogen and synthesis gas. Credit to our exceptional team for this outstanding outcome. The relevance of the comment “The world consumes 90 million tonnes of hydrogen each year, with almost all of this being derived from fossil fuels” is questionable. My understanding is that most of this hydrogen is also used in processing said fossil fuels and these producers have little incentive to switch to green hydrogen. Most expect to see that market disappear with shifts to electric power and sustainable liquid fuels. So, what is the actual addressable market size for hydrogen? On the other hand your website mentions that your technology also produces syngas - now there is a huge market in transportation fuels!
