➿Continuing the Move2THz concept explanation. 🟢 🔵 Did you know ➡ that in the Move2THz project, sustainability and reducing environmental impact are key priorities - and this will be achieved through the use of 𝐒𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐂𝐮𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐢𝐞𝐬. 🟢 🔪 SmartCut technology allows for the efficient separation and transfer of 𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐍 𝐋𝐀𝐘𝐄𝐑𝐒 𝐨𝐟 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐮𝐦 𝐏𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐩𝐡𝐢𝐝𝐞 (𝐈𝐧𝐏) onto silicon wafers, which means that the valuable InP material is used more effectively, reducing waste and the need for large amounts of this scarce resource. This process not only minimizes the consumption of raw InP but also ensures that it can be integrated into larger-scale production with less environmental impact. 👏 🟢♻️ The Smart Cut opportunity we propose is strongly based on the 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 capability of this method. One single bulk InP substrate 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐛𝐞 𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐌𝐀𝐍𝐘 𝐓𝐈𝐌𝐄𝐒 for the realisation of many InP on silicon substrates. This method is not only groundbreaking because it boosts production and lowers costs, but it also helps conserve natural resources, save energy, and reduce the use of critical materials like crystalline InP and indium, a valuable primary metal. You can find more information by visiting our website: www.move2THz.eu 👉 Move2THz is supported by the Chips Joint Undertaking and its members, including the top-up funding by National Authorities of France, Switzerland, Germany, Sweden, the Netherlands, and Belgium, under Grant Agreement n° 101139842. #EfficientSeparation #effectiveness #reduce #SaveEnergy

🌱Innovative paths to sustainability: the P2Valuechemicals project 🌱 Prof. Dr. Robert Franke presented the exciting P2Valuechemicals project at the Power-to-X Day in Industriepark Höchst. This project, funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research, is part of the Kopernikus Initiative, one of the largest research efforts for energy system transformation in Germany. Together with partners such as the Jülich Research Center, the Max Planck Institute for Chemical Energy Conversion, Siemens Energy and Evonik Oxeno, we are working on a groundbreaking technology: the electrolysis of carbon dioxide to carbon monoxide. This carbon monoxide serves as a raw material for methoxycarbonylation and could revolutionize our sustainable carbonylation technology. The goal is to make this technology more environmentally friendly by using green electricity and CO2 as raw materials. A big step towards a greener future! 🌍 Harald Haeger Forschungszentrum Jülich #Sustainability #EnergyTransition #Innovation #P2Valuechemicals #KopernikusProjekte #GreenTechnology #siemensenergy #dechema #kopernikus #robertfranke

Towards circularity. Smoltek has been exploring the possibilities of growing carbon nanofibers using green hydrogen in the process. This could potentially lead to a more circular economy, where green hydrogen produced in an electrolyzer can be used as one of the gases to produce carbon nanofibers –which are then included in new electrolyzer cell material. ♻ #innovation #greentech #buildingwithatoms

The rise in popularity of energy storage systems to save electricity costs and the growing uptake of electric vehicles (EVs) has come with a rise in penetration of batteries, and a subsequent rise in the need to safely and sustainably manage battery recycling. The good news is batteries are recyclable and Australia is already a leader in the development of technology and research to do this. We are well placed to do even better. Researchers across the country are focussing their energy on improving the lifecycle and responsible recovery of materials from lithium batteries. To help our members, ABRI is collating a list of research projects/publications and welcomes input from institutions and researchers who want their projects added to this list. The list focuses on publicly available and funded research. ABRI recognises that there is also proprietary research underway. https://lnkd.in/gaGCMtyB #innovation #sustainability #recycling #batteries #research Australian Battery Society
