A brilliant few days in #monaco working with #management and #brokerage clients, while developing new relationships with strong independent businesses in the sector. Thanks to everyone for the hospitality and making us feel so welcome! . I've come back with some #exclusive opportunities, some further retained work and the framework of an official recruitment partnership with a leading #management company - more details to follow on all of the above. The evenings were spent #networking with #candidates and it was great fun finally meeting the people behind the #linkedin profiles! Conversation ranged from the Euros, the difficulties of living in the countryside, Scandinavia's stray dog policy, the Tour and occasionally some #yachting! It's clear that there are many talented, hardworking individuals in the #shoreside of the industry, and we need to recognise them, nurture them and support them. #KYC #AML and the #graylist were all common topics and obvious concerns for clients and candidates alike, and I'm hearing that internal processes to support client facing staff aren't what they should be in some cases. As none of this is going away in the foreseeable, perhaps we need to review how we handle these requirements. . In the middle of our recruiting process, I made a classic mistake: I stopped doing what was working. We had more than 80 leads coming in, and I figured, “Great! Things are flowing. Time to ease up.” But the moment I stopped certain activities, the leads dried up almost immediately. That’s when I realized something important—success in recruiting (and sales!) isn’t about hitting cruise control. It’s about consistent, daily activities. When you find what works, you *stick to it*. Efficiency is the name of the game. (Time=Money) Great recruiters: * Know when/who to say “NO” too. * Focus on activities that drive results. * Focus on quality over quantity. But they weren’t always this efficient.. This came after countless hours of working hard on the wrong things. Activity that lead to no results. And that’s ok.
