🌏 Tackling Diabetes in SEA with Danish Innovation Another fulfilling week of fostering relationship with both Danish organisations and stakeholders in Singapore🇩🇰🇸🇬 📊 Here are facts about the state of our health: 👩⚕️Diabetes treatment varies in Southeast Asia. Some countries have robust healthcare systems, which sees prevention, diagnosis and treatment readily available while others have varying access to treatment within a province. Singapore has the former. Yet, it is estimated that there will be an increase of 50% in diabetic residents above 40 by 2030, up from 400,000 in 2023📈 \ https://lnkd.in/eaW_EbBB. Over the last decade, measures by Singapore government in its fight against diabetes include: 🔹 advocating and educating its population to take onus of one’s health, 🔹 strengthening the healthcare infrastructure to increase accessibility and affordability of treatment for chronic illnesses, 🔹 access to free exercise programs, 🔹 mandating the labelling of drinks based on their sugar and saturated fat content. 📆 World Diabetes Day falls on 14 November 2024. The battle against diabetes must continue not only in Singapore but also around the world. 🤝The Novo Nordisk team shared with Ambassador Jakob Brix Tange and Deputy Head of Mission Rasmus Bjørnø how their organisations tackle the above alarming health issues. They are dedicated to contribute to local communities in Singapore and Southeast Asia. As a responsible Danish organisation, Novo Nordisk looks internally at upholding a good work culture for employees; externally, how it can bring positive impacts to communities, value-chains and mother earth (turning waste to furnishing)! 🌱♻️ If you are a Danish health and medtech organisation and would like to explore market opportunities in Singapore, please contact Chin Ee CHAI, Senior Commercial Advisor. This week GLOHRA Director Nora Anton advocated for continued government support of global health initiatives in the sub-committee (Unterausschuss) meeting on global health. Here's some key highlights: 🔸 Importance of support for interdisciplinary research: Continued governmental incentives are crucial to promote research that crosses disciplinary and sector boundaries, fostering career development and collaboration. See the related GLOHRA policy brief on this topic: https://lnkd.in/drhHkQ3d 🔸 Partnerships with collaborators in LMICs: A call for revising funding regulations to ensure equitable partnerships with institutions in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) was emphasized. Models that allow direct access to funding for these institutions would strengthen global research collaboration. See the related GLOHRA policy brief on this topic: https://lnkd.in/di9r6ur6 🔸 Operationalization of strategy goals: The need for clear goals and measurable indicators was highlighted to effectively evaluate the success of the Global Health Strategy and adapt as needed. Complex health problems require sustainable solutions through international, interdisciplinary, and cross-sector collaboration. Initiatives such as GLOHRA and the Global Health Hub Germany foster this networking, benefiting both global and local health. 📄 Read the full statement here: https://lnkd.in/eX6FvTVR 📽 Watch the recorded session (GLOHRA part starts at 1:07:06): https://lnkd.in/ehkypajb #globalhealth #research #interdisciplinary #equitablepartnerships #bundestag #parliament #policy #science #sciencepolicy Deutscher Bundestag Andrew Ullmann Helge Braun Knut Gerschau Tina Rudolph Georg Kippels Kordula Schulz-Asche Johannes Wagner Dr. Karamba Diaby Dr. Franziska Kersten Jan-Thilo Klimisch VENRO Nora Anton German Alliance for Global Health Research (GLOHRA) Corinna Heineke Global Health Hub Germany

🌟 Thrilled to share our CEO's reflections from the recent healthcare infrastructure workshop! We're energized to contribute to the transformation of Romania's healthcare sector. 🌟 I had the privilege to attend a truly enlightening workshop yesterday on "Optimizing Heathcare Infrastructure: Equipping Hospitals in 2024" organized by the Ministry of Health in partnership with AmCham Romania and the USA Embassy. Gratitude extends for the invitation to partake in such a thought-provoking discussion. 🌟 I particularly valued the dynamic presentation delivered by Alexandru Rogobete, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Health. His fervor and well documented insights showcased the Ministry's unwavering commitment to advancing the smooth operation of the healthcare industry in Romania. A pivotal point of discourse was the acquisition procedures pertinent to public healthcare institutions—a challenge we've first handedly grappled with at Phoenix Environmental in our mission to improve acces to clean drinkable water in Romanian hospitals. 💧 Professor Dorel Sandesc's propositions, if translated into practice, hold the promise of revolutionizing Romania's healthcare landscape. The discussions were nothing short of insightful and passionate, led by industry experts who truly understand the nuances of this field. What an exceptional event! 🚀 #HealthcareInnovation #IndustryInsights #PublicHealthcareRevolution

🤩 On May 23, Steven Vandeput, PhD. will represent our federation at Radical Health Festival Helsinki, a 3-day event bringing together people, data, and innovations to help scale prevention and precision in European healthcare. Steven will participate in a panel on the #reimbursement and adoption of #digitalhealth technologies, alongside experts from five other countries: Germany, France, Italy, Spain, and, of course Finland. 🖤💛❤ During the panel, special attention will be given to three countries: France with its #PECAN model, Germany with #DiGA, and ... Belgium with our reimbursement framework for #mhealth solutions. Something to be proud of, being a small country in Europe. And at the same time, an encouragement to do even better? 💪 In any case, we are convinced Belgium can become a frontrunner in the use of innovative digital medical technologies to support healthcare providers and patients. That is if we dare to think radically outside the box from time to time. Also on our agenda in Finland? 👉 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘀 with experts from Germany, France, and other European countries. 👉 𝗚𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄𝗹𝗲𝗱𝗴𝗲 that we can bring back to Belgium to share with policymakers, our members, and other healthcare stakeholders. 👉 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗱 with #mHealthBelgium with stakeholders from other countries. 𝗣.𝗦. Outside the festival, we will also meet with Finnish authorities to discuss the #digitalhealth story we are writing in Belgium (among other topics). Looking forward already! 👁 #RadicalHealth #DigitalInHealth #medtechmatters #healthcareinnovation #digitalhealth RIZIV FOD Volksgezondheid, Veiligheid van de Voedselketen en Leefmilieu Agoria

Merilin will be part of a team of 15 top specialists from across the globe, working together to address some of the most pressing health challenges in the WHO European region. The WHO European Region faces complex health challenges: from the global spread of infectious diseases like COVID-19 and influenza to chronic illnesses such as heart disease, cancer, and diabetes, as well as rising mental health issues. These challenges are worsened by an aging population and unequal access to healthcare. Yet, the region holds immense untapped potential.
