Discontinuation of business of HELIOVIS AG HELIOVIS AG, an Austrian solar tech company, announces the discontinuation of all business activities. The company has developed a highly innovative, pneumatic solar concentrator (HELIOtube®) for the provision of emission-free process heat for the decarbonization of industry throughout the global sunbelt. Despite support from the EU and national funding bodies, consistently loyal investors, a large number of partners as well as reference projects in Spain and the Middle East, it was not possible to ensure the company’s further development. The main reasons include the consistent low level of industrial prices for fossil fuels in the target regions, the subsidized and therefore unrivalled production costs of photovoltaics from Asia, and the fact that effective CO² pricing exists only in Europe and only for a limited number of industries. HELIOVIS wishes to express its gratitude to all shareholders, sponsors, employees and its global partners for their joint efforts in developing this solar-thermal solution. The energy transition remains a global challenge and must be driven forward – now, unfortunately, without HELIOVIS. Wiener Neudorf, November 8, 2024 HELIOVIS AG

UK green hydrogen company GeoPura has completed a £56 million investment round as part of plans to expand its production capacity, grow its workforce in the UK, and increase the deployment of its power generation technology. The UK Infrastructure Bank committed £30 million to the round, led by a follow-on investment from Barclays Sustainable Impact Capital and supported by GeoPura’s existing investors, including GM Ventures, SWEN Capital Partners, and Siemens Energy Ventures. “The challenge of replacing the estimated $300 billion installed base of highly polluting diesel generators over the next 10 years is significant and requires the scale and commitment that investors such as UKIB and our existing highly supportive shareholders and partners provide," said Andrew Cunningham, CEO of GeoPura. "We’re delighted to be taking this next step and it’s brilliant to be working together to make a real, tangible impact today by reducing filthy engine emissions, providing better air quality for us all.” GeoPura stated that the financing will directly increase the manufacture and supply of the company’s Hydrogen Power Units (HPUs) at its Newcastle based facility, which replace traditional diesel generators and emit zero harmful emissions. GeoPura’s HPUs have already been supplied to customers including the Ministry of Defence, Balfour Beatty plc, National Grid and the BBC. GeoPura also aims to mass manufacture HPUs in collaboration with partner Siemens Energy and plans to deploy a fleet of over 3,600 HPUs by 2033. “Our investment in GeoPura is another example of our problem solving in action,” remarked John Flint, CEO at UK Infrastructure Bank. “By removing barriers to investment in the hydrogen sector – a critical nascent market on the route to net zero – we are creating a sustainable platform from which to finance additional green hydrogen projects in the near future.” James Ferrier, Director, Principal Investments, Barclays Sustainable Impact Capital, added: “Scaling new climate technologies – like GeoPura’s HPUs – will be critical in decarbonising the UK economy, as sectors with no existing viable alternatives to fossil fuels look to our home-grown entrepreneurs for innovative solutions to help them cut emissions." Barclays’ Energy Transition Group, a group within the Investment Bank of Barclays Bank PLC, acted as financial adviser and assisted GeoPura in respect of the UK Infrastructure Bank’s investment. #cleanenergy

💧 Benelux´s first E-Methanol System constructed by Host Group & University of Twente with €4 Million Subsidy - Bright Renewables and HyGear, both part of the HoSt Group - Bioenergy Systems, together with the University of Twente, are set to construct Benelux's first E-Methanol system. Their joint project, "Towards Acceleration and Demonstration of E-Methanol" (TANDEM), received a total of nearly €4 million subsidy, covering half of the total €8 million investment. The project targets the development of technology for producing E-Methanol, a sustainable fuel alternative to conventional fuels for heavy-duty transport, including ships and aviation. Spanning a total of four years, the project is set to produce its initial batch of renewable methanol by the third quarter of 2025. In this consortium, Bright Renewables (Enschede) is developing the methanol reactor technology, HyGear (Arnhem) is providing a 1MW electrolyser with polymer electrolyte membrane (PEM) technology, and the University of Twente (Enschede) is researching heat exchange, vital for the process, and the most optimal way for scaling up the project using a twin-test reactor. Of the total €4 million subsidy provided, €600,000 is allocated specifically for the university's research. Martin Bos is R&D Manager at HoSt Group, the mother company of Bright Renewables and HyGear, and explains the innovative character of this project: “The subsidy was granted due to our innovative design which focuses on process intensification. We’ve designed a technology that uses fewer materials and operates at lower temperatures and pressures than existing technologies, resulting in lower energy consumption and a reduced total cost of ownership”. The project's total funding comes from a ‘GroenvermogenNL’ subsidy, underpinned by the ‘Nationaal Groeifonds’. All intermediate steps and required technologies are engineered and developed in-house and in close local collaboration with the university around the corner. #techland #hydrogen #electrolyzer #innovation #tech Source: ➡ TECH.LAND: Benelux´s first E-Methanol System constructed by Host Group & University of Twente with €4 Million Subsidy | techland.org ➡ University of Twente: https://lnkd.in/dkJ27iKs ➡ Picture: University Twente

📃📃📃Flower Turbines Filed 3 Patents This Week 🌱This is an important and useful patent. Who would have thought you can recycle wind? Patent 1 is on using turbines with exhaust systems like data centers, industrial air conditioning units in factories, farms, and commercial buildings, etc. We now can uniquely recycle wasted wind energy in this growing market. We will be marketing to these segments very soon. We are establishing the foundation for markets where no other company can come close to us. We solved the problem of putting turbines too close to the exhaust so that it causes a blockage and loss of energy in total and placing it too far away where it is less cost-effective. We hope that our strategy of innovation with patent protection combined with market entry will pay off for our investors. #FlowerTurbines #invest #cleanenergy #windmill #windturbine #GreenEnergy #GreenTech #Green #cleantech #sustainability #microgrids #solar #startups #renewables #renewableenergy #renewablepower #patents
